2 Who s Who? Welcome Warwick! I am Miss Jiggens, your Head of House, and am very excited to work with all of you. As an art teacher I am a very creative person, and look for creative things to do that are fun and hopefully you will want to partake in. I love the sense of a community and that is what Warwick is, so I hope we can work together and win! Feel free to share your ideas and have your say in events and I look forward to getting to know you all better! Hello, I m Alex Canham and I m one of Warwick s head of House. I really enjoy sports and would like to organise a range of different sporting events throughout the year to make this year more fun and entertaining for pupils lower down the school. I wanted to be part of Warwick so that I was more involved in sport and could make more of an impact as a pupil. Also, I thought it will be a fun experience with a lot of rivalry and camaraderie between the houses. I think it s great to be part of a team and so urge anyone who wants to get involved and put forward any ideas, to do so. Hi I m Ella; I m one of the House Captains in Warwick House. I m currently studying English Literature, English Language and History, and I am hoping to go on to study English Literature at university next year. As House Captain, I hope to motivate people to take part in events and activities we have going on at school. Also, I hope that if anyone needs any help with anything that they feel like they can come and see me at any time.

3 Who s Who? HI, I m Emily and I m one of two vice captains of Warwick. I m in year 13 and currently studying English Language, Biology and Psychology and am hopefully going in to a gap year next year. As a vice captain I m hoping to help the captains organise lots of unique and fun events for the house and am willing to help anyone else who would like to organise anything for Warwick as well. Hello, I m Lucy and I am one of the vice captains of Warwick. I am currently studying English Literature, History, German and Philosophy and ethics as well as involving myself in school council. I love being actively involved in the school community, and am looking forward to working with the people in Warwick. If you ever need anything, or want to organise events feel free to come and see me any time

5 Events! So, what s been going on in Warwick? Warwick did incredibly well in the Food bank competition, as a house we pulled together and did something good for others in need, so thank you to all who got involved and helped us to win! Congratulations to those who were involved in the sports events last week, you represented Warwick fantastically! As a house we are doing well for house points, so lets keep it going into the new year and work together in the exciting events to come. We would very much like your input into events, so don t forget to talk to Miss Jiggens, the captains or vice if you would like to plan an event, or would just like a particular one to take place. We thank all for your hard work this term, and look forward to reporting on more events in the new year!

6 Sports! This week we (year 9) had an inter-house rugby competition with lots of good players on our team we won all three matches that we played. A couple of the players we had were Ciaran Janes, Liam Parry, Duncan Pritchard, Nathan Jones, Alfie Kershaw and many more. We had some great runners, kickers, and overall a great time!! We had a strong and powerful team, which is probably why we won!

8 Advice! This is for anyone who needs help with anything, for GCSE and A level students we will be recommending useful websites to help with work and asking teachers for their tips to share! If you want to see something on this page please let us know! Useful websites! GCSE: Mymaths BBC Bitesize Memrise particularly useful for history! A level: UCAS this is a great website which gives details of jobs you could go into with the degree you are considering! We don t want to patronise you with things you already know, we know that exam times are stressful, but we just want to remind you of important things! Unfortunately we all have to sit exams, but look at them in a positive way : once they are done, they are over and you can rest! Taking breaks during revision is essential, there s no point in stressing out, as when you are tired and stressed your productivity and efficiency levels plummet. All the teachers are there if you need them, utilise them and your lesson time as much as you can. We will support you as best we can, and provide information on useful revision resources when they are available!

9 Merry Christmas Key information! Don t forget that school starts again on Tuesday 5 th January, and this starting week will be a week 2! We would like to thank you for all your hard work this term, and for all the support you have shown Warwick! We hope you have a wonderful and restful Christmas, and look forward to working with you in the new year again!
