1 Articulation Agreement between JAMESTOWN COMMUNITY COLLEGE and ALFRED STATE COLLEGE Forensic Science Technology Bachelor of Science (BS) PURPOSE OF AGREEMENT This document establishes a transfer articulation agreement between Jamestown Community College (JCC) and Alfred State College (ASC). Its purpose is to afford students the opportunity to pre-plan their college careers, and to facilitate the transfer process from JCC to the BS degree program in Forensic Science Technology at ASC. GENERAL GUARANTEE OF ADMISSION AND STANDING Students who graduate from JCC with an Associate in Science degree, have achieved a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 and a minimum grade of C in all transferable courses, and have achieved a minimum overall grade point average of 2.5 for all courses taken in mathematics/sciences/computer science are guaranteed admission into the BS Forensic Science Technology program at ASC. They are also guaranteed full junior status. Students who do not meet all of the above criteria will be evaluated for acceptance on a case by case basis. GENERAL GUARANTEE OF OPPORTUNITY TO GRADUATE Students who transfer from JCC with at least 54 credits from the courses listed in Appendix A (Biology Option) or Appendix B (Chemistry Option) are guaranteed the opportunity to earn the bachelor s degree with four semesters of normal coursework at ASC. OTHER TRANSFER INFORMATION A maximum of 66 transfer credits is generally accepted by ASC. However, under the terms of this agreement students can transfer up to the equivalent of 87 ASC required credits for the Biology Option (courses listed in Appendix A, with a maximum of 3 credit hours of open electives) and up to the equivalent of 79 ASC required credits for the Chemistry Option (courses listed in Appendix B, with a maximum of 3 credit hours of open electives). At least 30 upper level (5000 level or above) credits must be taken at ASC to qualify for the BS degree.
