Tanks- free standing, process, large size Tank construction method using a combinationof reinforced concrete with HDPE Process tanks Tanks for corrosive media HDPE and PP large size products Ventilation elements Tanks subject to technical supervision of the UDT (Office of Technical Inspection) Galvanising baths
TANK CONSTRUCTION METHOD USING A COMBINATION OF REINFORCED CONCRETE WITH HDPE 2 DESIGN, CONSTRUCTION AND OPERATION OF TANKS MADE OF A COMBINATION OF REINFORCED CONCRETE WITH HDPE SZAGRU specialises in the design, construction of above ground, underground, cylindrical and cuboid-shaped tanks executed by combining reinforced concrete with HDPE. Most liquid storage tanks installed nowadays are made with the use of conventional methods as reinforced concrete walls. A disadvantage and inconvenience of this method is that it is difficult: to achieve a watertight formwork for the proper curing of the structure, to achieve a watertight concrete tank, to protect the rebars embedded in the tank walls from corrosion, to protect concrete from ageing and the influence of aggressive media. Another difficulty is that if the tank is to be used to store potable water, the inner walls of the tank walls must be coated with a certified coating suitable for such purposes, and finally the extended tank installation process. To design a tank that we offer we can use conventional methods. However, still at the design stage, the first advantage of the technology we offer is a reduced wall thickness of the tank because there is no need for rebars to have a thicker concrete cover to protect them from corrosion. For each tank we draw up construction design documentation approved by a design engineer licensed to design reinforced concrete structures. TANK CONSTRUCTION The tanks may be of cylindrical or cuboid shape, situated above round or underground. It isconstructed on a foundation slab (4), its external walls are made of HDPE (2), as well as its internal walls (3), the base (5) and the top cover (6), but the space between the external walls (2) and the internal walls (3) is filled with concrete (13), and a concrete layer of appropriate thickness is poured over the reinforced top cover (6). The internal walls (3) from the side of the interwall surface (12) are provided with plastic vertical ribs (7), and the base (5) and the top cover have horizontal ribs (8). While constructing the tank we may eliminate the external plastic wall and perform a conventional formwork. Then the tank is a typical reinforced concrete structure with an internal, watertight chemical resistant HDPE lining. The tank walls as well as the stub pipes are made of HDPE pipes and sheets. The pipes and sheets are butt welded or extrusion welded together. The tanks are intended for use as manholes, pumping stations, gate valve chambers, water meter chambers, liquid storage tanks etc. A cylindrical vertically-oriented tank. Lining the tank with HDPE sheets ensures a completely watertight structure, protecting concrete against ageing and the influence of aggressive media. When the tank is intended for potable water storage, we use sheets approved for food contact. Moreover, this technology reduces the time of installation, construction and formwork removal. What is more, in case of demanding project requirements and conditions, this technology proves to be time-effective. Smaller tanks may be placed in the excavation and then the interwall space can be filled with concrete. The process of pouring concrete does not have to be continuous due to the tightness of the plastic shell. The picture shows the construction of a cylindrical, reinforced concrete, underground tank performed in the above described technology a combination of reinforced concrete and HDPE.
TANK CONSTRUCTION METHOD USING A COMBINATION OF REINFORCED CONCRETE WITH HDPE OPERATION If the foundation is properly carried out, a tank constructed in the technology of combining reinforced concrete with plastics should remain in use for 50 years, as most HDPE plastic tanks. HDPE plastics are resistant to weather and subsoil conditions as well as microorganisms. While constructing these tanks, compaction and backfill are of secondary importance. Moreover access way for heavy vehicles is not necessary. 3 Tanks of volume ranging from several to several thousand cubic metres can be constructed using this technology. Many disadvantages of the conventional construction methods are eliminated. Due to the fact that the technology is innovative it has been registered with the Polish Patent Office at no. P The technology presented here offers a range of possibilities. The pictures below show the process of renovation of a free standing steel tank at a wastewater treatment plant, where a leaking steel tank was used as external formwork. Corrosion process before the renovation Leaking steel tank Reinforcement and formwork with the use of HDPE sheets Pouring concrete Steel roof installation with a connected HDPE shell
PROCESS TANKS 4 THE TANK AFTER RENOVATION PROCESS TANKS Our offer includes various types of free standing tanks intended for the following purposes: - storage of process and production media - storage of corrosive media subject to technical supervision of the UDT (Office of Technical Inspection) - process tanks mixers - storage of swimming pool water - storage of potable water PZH-certified (National Institute of Hygiene) - tanks and baths for galvanising plants
PROCESS TANKS We specialise in design and manufacturing of non-pressure tanks intended for storage of corrosive media and subject to technical supervision. We carry out concession documentation and apply for approval at the UDT (Office of Technical Inspection). The contracting party then receives the complete design documentation and approved acceptance documentation. 5 TANKS FOR CORROSIVE MEDIA We construct free standing tanks intended for storage of corrosive media outside and inside the shop floor. We mainly use polyethylene HDPE and polypropylene PP. Other materials such as PVC or PVDF can be applied for specialist structures. Each tank is designed to meet the specific project requirements and conditions. We also construct tanks according to designs provided by the client. 6 PROCESS TANKS, LARGE-SIZE PRODUCTS 6 CUBOID-SHAPED FREE STANDING TANKS We construct cuboid-shaped tanks made of polyethylene HDPE and polypropylene PP. These tanks, depending on their size, are reinforced with plastics or steel profiles protected against corrosive environment in which they are installed. WE SPECIALISE IN MANUFACTURING CUSTOM-MADE LARGE SIZE PRODUCT Pumping station PE concrete PE Retention tank Ventilation pipeline Underground storage tanks Swimming pool water buffer tank Biological scrubber
