A It is best to locate it in the most occupied area of the home as high up as possible. A good choice would probably be in the living room on a bookshelf. Q How does the GT3000 Whole Home Air Purifier compare to others on the market? A Unlike most air cleaning systems that require the pollutants to be brought to the device, called passive devices (like a filter), the GT3000 Whole Home Air Purifier is proactive. It attacks pollution at its various sources throughout the indoor environment including in your breathing space and on surfaces. Literally anywhere the air can get to the GT3000 Whole Home Air Purifier can purify, reducing particles, breaking down dangerous gasses, and inactivating mold, bacteria, and viruses. That s the difference, active technology versus passive technology. Q How does the technology work? A The GT3000 Whole Home Air Purifier uses four distinct technologies to break down/destroy pollutants such as the thousands of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), odor causing compounds, mold, bacteria, viruses, and particulate (dust/dander) that are found in the indoor environment. These technologies include: Two Types of Ionization (Pulse And Needlepoint) Photocatalytic Oxidation (PCO) Low Level Activated Oxygen (Ozone) Electrostatic Filtration Q How do I determine what mode I should use the GT3000 Whole Home Air Purifier in? A More is not necessarily better when it comes to air purification. The goal of the GT3000 Whole Home Air Purifier is to create a natural purification like we find in fresh mountain air. To begin, always place the purifier in NORMAL MODE. After two or three days, try the HIGH MODE setting at 250 ft 2 as long as the room the purifier is in is no less than 250 ft 2. Over the next few days, gradually increase the square footage setting up to the area of the environment being treated (NOTE: Do not exceed the square footage of the enclosed area. Do not count rooms closed off by doors or other areas where air does not flow freely

2 between rooms.). If at any point you find the purification to be too strong reduce the square footage setting. You may even choose to revert back to NORMAL MODE if the lowest setting in HIGH MODE is not pleasant for you. Q What if I need longer than sixty days to evaluate the GT3000 Whole Home Air Purifier? A Customers see a very noticeable difference in the indoor air quality within a relatively short period of time, typically three to five days but in many cases in just a few hours. This, of course, depends on the condition of the environment. Q Why is the GT3000 Whole Home Air Purifier so expensive? A Keep in mind that the GT3000 Whole Home Air Purifier has the most advanced stand alone air purification technology available. Other similar types of purifiers that are not as effective often cost two to four times as much as the GT3000 Whole Home Air Purifier. HEPA filters can cost a person as much as $1,500 over a five year period of time. The GT3000 Whole Home Air Purifier delivers results by dramatically improving your indoor air quality for much less than other systems available. Q Does the GT3000 Whole Home Air Purifier oxidize metal or rubber products? A The purifying oxidizers created by the GT3000 Whole Home Air Purifier when operated in NORMAL MODE or when set to a proper setting in HIGH MODE are not dispersed in levels that will adversely affect metals, plastics, or rubber items in your indoor environment. When using the AWAY MODE, for use only when the area is unoccupied by humans and pets, a level of ozone is generated that helps sanitize the area. Continuous exposer to elevated ozone levels can cause a breakdown of natural rubber products and the oxidation of metal. For this reason, the use of the AWAY MODE should be limited to two to four times per month. Q Since the GT3000 Whole Home Air Purifier uses an ionizer; will it cause a Black/Gray Wall effect? A No. The GT3000 Whole Home Air Purifier ionization technology projects the ions out the front of the purifier. As long as the GT3000 Whole Home Air Purifier is directed towards the middle of the room, there should be no instances of Black/Gray Wall. Black/Gray Wall effect occurs when ionizers negatively charge the walls, which will attract particulate, creating the Black/Gray Wall effect. However, since many of the particles drop to the floor, they must be swept up or vacuumed and disposed of. Q What happens to the particles that are being removed from the air in the room? A The two forms of ionization in the GT3000 Whole Home Air Purifier cause ultra-fine and even larger particles to become negatively charged, and because

3 most particles in the indoor environment are positively charged, the particles attract each other and clump together. This causes the particles to gain mass and either get pulled into the HVAC filter or drop to the floor at which point they must be swept up or vacuumed to be disposed of. Q Can the GT3000 Whole Home Air Purifier be used in a smaller area? A Yes. However, when used in a small (up to 250 square feet), the unit should be operated in NORMAL MODE. In areas over 250 square feet the unit can be operated in HIGH MODE. (NOTE: Do not exceed the square footage of the enclosed area. Do not count rooms closed off by doors or other areas where air does not flow freely between rooms.) Q Is the GT3000 Whole Home Air Purifier harmful for people and their pets? A Not when in NORMAL MODE or when set to the proper area on HIGH MODE. Q Can one GT3000 Whole Home Air Purifier cover the whole house? A It can, but this certainly depends upon the size and layout of the house and how much pollution the GT3000 has to deal with. The unit can benefit and be more effective if it is placed in such a way that after delivering the purification to a large area it can be picked up by the air return and distributed through the duct system to other parts of the home. Q Can the GT3000 be moved around? (To avoid using multiple units.) A Yes. The unit is portable, that is one of its great features. We recommend you locate the best spot in your home that makes it most effective. Typically this is mounted high in a family room close to the kitchen area. Even so, you may find from time to time that you have a reason to temporarily relocate it to deal with odors, painting, etc. Q Does the GT3000 Whole Home Air Purifier need to run all the time? A The GT3000 is designed to be left on 24/7. This allows the advanced technologies of the unit to maintain a clean environment, rather than having to pay catch up each time the purifier is activated. Even during periods when you are away from the home for an extended period, it is best to operate your purifier to reduce mold and bacteria levels, which are common when a home is closed up for an extended period. Q Is there any maintenance necessary on the GT3000 Whole Home Air Purifier? A Yes. The unit should be cleaned on a regular basis (typically once a month). A small mesh plate, as well as the rear filter, needs to be cleaned according to instructions in the Owner s Manual. In especially dusty or smoky environments

4 we recommend the use of an additional pre-filter to protect your GT3000 and keep it cleaner. The PCO Cell (UV lamp module) requires replacement after its recommended lifespan has been reached. Q How long does the PCO Cell (UV lamp module) last? A The operational life of the PCO Cell is approximately 9,000 hours. If you use the product around the clock, it will last you over a year. In fact, the lamp module has a one-year warranty. The manufacturer recommends replacing it annually. Q I understand that it uses TiO2 or Titanium Dioxide in a reaction with UV light to produce OH. So is not the TiO2 a toxic compound that goes into the air capable of causing lung damage? Are not the OH molecules potentially dangerous too? A TiO2 is Non-Toxic! TiO2 is used in paints to create bright white finishes, as well as in toothpaste, cosmetics and many other products. OH molecules are oxidants; high concentrations can be irritants. The life of an OH is less than a second. Within that time frame, it will have reacted with an organic converting to carbon dioxide and water. Q Do OH molecules have any smell? A No. Some people detect a slight metallic odor associated with the photocatalytic activity. Q Is it a problem if the concentration of OH in the air is too high? A The GT3000 can be used in a small area such as a bedroom but in the event of a slight headache or burning eyes, simply open the area up, turn the unit off, or move it into a large area. Q What if the PCO light in the unit does not come on when the GT3000 Whole Home Air Purifier is turned on? A First, make sure the wall outlet has power and the green LED indicator on the external AC to DC power adapter is lit. Then verify the purifier is turned on and the fan is operating. Next, check that the PCO Cell is properly plugged in. You ll need to remove the rear grill and filter, and then insure the plug from the PCO Cell is firmly seated in its socket. If the unit still does not work, contact customer service. Q How many positive ions does the GT3000 Whole Home Air Purifier produce along with negative ones? A The GT3000 produces only negative ions, approximately 1.5M ions/cu cm at a distance of 1 meter. Because the majority of pollution in the indoor environment is positively charged, adding negative charges cause particles, to attract, clump

5 together and then fall from breathing space. Q How much ozone is released from the GT3000 Whole Home Air Purifier? A When used in NORMAL MODE, no ozone is used in the purification process. In HIGH MODE, when the purifier is adjusted for the area being treated, ozone levels are typically 0.1 to 0.3 PPM, well below the safe and natural level set by the EPA. It is important to set the square foot setting based upon the ventilated space (where air can get to) and not the entire square footage of the home. Q How are negatively charged ion molecules collected after attaching to the positively charged ones in the atmosphere? Is there a mechanism that provides for this in the GT3000 Whole Home Air Purifier? A The process of ionization involves the negatively charged ions coming from the unit, to travel throughout the home attracting positively charged particulates. The process is called agglomeration. The particulates become larger and heavier and fall to the surfaces, i.e. furniture, table tops, counters, floors, thus taken care of by normal home cleaning procedures. Because these particulates are heavier than air, they do not get re-airborne. There is no mechanism inside the unit to collect these particles other than the rear filter, which is primarily responsible for keeping the unit itself clean. The particles are generally swept or vacuumed from the floor and surfaces. Q Is the GT3000 Whole Home Air Purifier UL listed? A Yes, the GT3000 is UL listed. The UL mark can be found on the AC/DC Power Adapter. Q We have been using our GT3000 Whole Home Air Purifier for several days and started to experience burning eyes. We turned it off and have not experienced that sensation again. What could cause the burning eyes sensation? A If the purifier is being used in HIGH MODE (square foot setting), the setting is most likely too high and needs to be reduced or set to normal mode. If the purifier has been used only in the NORMAL MODE (PCO setting) the issue can typically be resolved by moving the purifier to a larger area and ensuring the unit is placed at 6 feet, such as on the top of a bookcase. Q What is the warranty for this product? A The manufacturer warrants, to the original purchaser, this product against defects in materials and workmanship excluding the replaceable lamp module, for a period of (1) year from the date of the purchase. Defects or failures due to improper handling, use or maintenance, including abuse or neglect, normal wear, accidents, alterations or modifications, or unauthorized repair are specifically excluded warranty.
