2 Page 2 Special Olympics Maryland, St. Mary s County Cycling to Start Saturday July 19 Cycling practices are on Saturdays at the Patuxent River Naval Air Station. We need to provide athlete and driver names to the security office by Tuesday of each week to enter. PRACTICE TIMES will be announced prior to first practice. Local competition will be held in September and State Competition will be October 25th. Kayaking Starts Monday July 14 Kayak practice is staying at Greenwell State Park from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Depending on the number of athletes, we may split into an early and late group. The Coach will contact you with group info. There will be a qualifier in September and State Competition has yet to be determined. Golf Starts Thursday June 26th Golf skills and team competitions will be held on Thursday evening from 5 until 7 at Wicomico Golf Course. Players will have the opportunity to participate in various competitions throughout the state including a local competition to be announced at a later date and State Competition. Bowling Starts Saturday August 16 Bowling will be held each Saturday, August 16 through October 18th at Esperanza Bowling lanes. Local competition will take place October 18. Selected individuals will compete in the regional tournament November 16. State Competition will be December 7. REGISTRATION MUST BE RECEIVED BY AUGUST 1. Soccer Starts Tuesday August 29 Soccer will be held on Tuesdays at 4:30 pm at Chancellors Run Park. Local competition will be announced at a later date. State competition will be held at the Crown Sports Center on November 2, I plan to attend the Annual Awards Banquet on July 20. Athlete Name Persons coming with athlete (limit 2 guests or family members) Money Enclosed: $3 $6 $9 (check one) Return this form WITH MONEY by July 6th.
