1 JASPER COUNTY 4-H NEWS Winter New Address: 103 E. Houston St. Jasper, Tx Butterfly Capital of Texas Cindy VanDevender Family & Consumer Sciences Healthy Holiday Recipe No-Cook Cranberry Relish 1 bag cranberries 1 large seedless orange 1 cup shelled pecans 1 cup sugar OR sugar/splenda combo Best served the day it is made this will only keep a day or two in the refrigerator combine leftovers with a muffin mix to make a breakfast treat. Rinse cranberries. Peel orange and cut in chunks. Add orange, pecans and cranberries to food processor and chop just until chunky. Stir in sugar and TASTE it. If your orange or your cranberries are very tart, or it your family likes really sweet, it is okay to add more sugar and/or Splenda. Note on using Splenda: sugar does more than sweeten this recipe. It is also a preservative that keeps the fresh fruit taste and texture. You can substitute up to half with sugar substitutes like Splenda, but the leftovers will not keep as long. correction: Jasper Livestock Show Tag-in will be Dec.14 (a week later than previously announced) 10 am to noon at the Jasper County Junior Livestock Barn on FM 777 across from the airport.
