1 Dear Applicant, Thank you for your interest in RedCliff Ascent. Our Field Instructors play a major role in the success of our program. Field instructors work an eight day on, six day off schedule. The eight days that they are in the field they are living out of their backpacks, working with youth at risk. Although experience is not necessary, it is helpful to have some experience working with teens. Our prospective instructors are invited to attend eight day training. During this training, they are taught wilderness skills, such as bow drill fires, camp set up and tear down, hiking and backpacking as well as therapeutic and communication skills. They are also informed of the rules and regulations as well as the philosophy of RedCliff Ascent. Going through the eight day training does not automatically guaranty that they are hired as field instructors. Although we hope that everyone that is invited to training continues on to work as a field instructor. The training is not paid, however there is a $200 signing bonus issued upon completion of the internship. This program is meant to be a therapeutic intervention for these youth. Field instructors that are emotionally stable and have strong boundaries will have great success in working with our students. It is of utmost importance that our field instructors are not easily manipulated and are willing to uphold the rules and regulations of RedCliff Ascent. Our employees are required to be at least 20 years old, pass an annual physical examination, have a high school degree or equivalent, pass a pre-employment and random drug screening test, clear a Federal Criminal Background Check, have a current CPR and First Aid certificate (we offer this training at no cost to you), be patient and love the outdoors. 8 RedCliff Ascent Wage and Pay Scale Internship: *Field Staff *Head Instructor *Senior Instructor $100 / day for three 8 day shifts (24 days of work, minimum) Bonus $ (one time bonus for completion of an internship) $110 / day (up to $125 / day With contracts and Bonus) $120 / day (up to $140 / day With contracts and Bonus) $130 / day (up to $157 / day With contracts and Bonus) In addition to the base pay, RedCliff offers a one year contract of $1, at the completion of the contract. Payday is the 5th of each month unless the 5th falls on a weekend or a holiday. Payday will then automatically roll to the next business day.
