An evacuation may take several days. The group may need to re-route due to an incident, changing their schedule. Out of respect for the group s safety and comfort, it is essential that applicants be clear with themselves, with their families and with about medical or personal histories that might reasonably be expected to put a group at undue risk or inconvenience. Such information would include fitness, past injuries or illnesses, or pre-existing conditions/behaviour/attitudes. Families are responsible for the costs of an evacuation, either for medical or behavioral concerns. Fees may be between $1,500 and $2,500 including air and ground transportation, accommodations and meals. A family s insurance may defray some expenses for injuries or illnesses, whereas expenses for behavioral incidents may not be covered. Check your insurance policy to understand your coverage.
