1 Adam and Eve Part 1 by Victor Torres Hello children. Today we will learn how God created the first humans: Adam and Eve. We will also learn what happened to them in the garden of Eden. I will tell you the story that most people know. I want you to pay attention kids because after I tell you the story, I will ask these questions: 1) What day was the first man created? 2) What did God use to make the first man? 3) Why did God create the first woman? 4) How did God make the first woman? 5) Adam and Eve were forbidden (not allowed) to eat the fruit of one tree. What is this tree called? 6) There was another tree in the middle of the garden. What is this tree called? 7) Satan, an evil spirit, appeared as what animal when he tempted Eve? 8) Did Eve believe Satan and ate the forbidden fruit? 9) What did she do next?

2 On the sixth day after God created the land animals, He said, Let us make humans and they will be like us. So the LORD God took a handful of soil and made a man. God breathed life into the man, and the man started breathing. The LORD made a garden in a place called Eden, which was in the east, and he put the man there.

3 The LORD God said, "It's not good for the man to live alone. I will make someone who will help him." So the LORD God made him fall into a deep sleep, and he took out one of the man's ribs. Then after closing the man's side, the LORD made a woman out of the rib. The LORD God brought her to the man, and the man exclaimed, "Here is someone like me! She is part of my body, my own flesh and bones. She came from me, a man. So I will name her Woman!"

4 The LORD placed all kinds of beautiful trees and fruit trees in the garden of Eden. In the middle of the garden is the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and the tree of life. The LORD told Adam that he can eat any fruit from any tree except the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. The LORD told him that if he does, he will surely die. One day, Satan appeared as a snake and tried to convince Eve that she will not die if she eats the forbidden fruit. Eve also knew that she is not supposed to eat the forbidden fruit but she believed Satan and ate the fruit. She also gave some to her husband Adam and he also ate the forbidden fruit. For disobeying His orders, God punished Adam and Eve.

5 So here are the questions again that we need to answer: 1) What day was the first man created? 2) What did God use to make the first man? 3) Why did God create the first woman? 4) How did God make the first woman? 5) Adam and Eve were forbidden (not allowed) to eat the fruit of one tree. Answer: Yes, she believed him and ate the forbidden fruit. 9) What did she do next? Answer: She gave some to her husband and he also ate of the forbidden fruit

7 Last time, we have learned that God uses code words so that most people would not understand the Bible. He explains it to some people only. All Christians know the story of Adam and Eve but only very few people know what the hidden lessons are behind the story. Before we learn these hidden lessons, let's review how He showed us in We are God's Creation - Part 3 that He created the spirits on the fifth day. Mat 3:16 So Jesus was baptized. And as soon as he came out of the water, the sky opened, and he saw the Spirit of God coming down on him like a dove. That's clue number one: dove = Spirit of God. He gave us clue number two in a parable, a story that has a secret lesson. Mar 4:2 And he was teaching them many things in parables, and in his teaching he said to them: Mar 4:3 Now listen! A farmer went out to scatter seed in a field. Mar 4:4 While the farmer was scattering the seed, some of it fell along the road and was eaten by birds. The apostles asked Him what is the meaning of the parable and... Mar 4:11 He answered: I have explained the secret about God's kingdom to you, but for others I can use only stories [or parables, so that they would not know the secret!]. Mar 4:14 What the farmer is spreading is really the message about the kingdom. Mar 4:15 The seeds that fell along the road are the people who hear the message. But Satan [a bad spirit] soon comes and snatches it away from them. So God used birds (Dove = Spirit of God, Birds = a bad spirit called Satan) as the code word in the creation of the spirits. Now let's look at this verse: Gen 2:7 The LORD God took a handful of soil and made a man. God breathed life into the man, and the man started breathing. The Lord used a handful of soil or earth to make Adam. something here kids. A secret message! He is telling us He is using earth this time as the code word. What did He tell us about the earth in the beginning?

8 Gen 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. We learned that void means empty, lifeless or unfinished. There it is kids! God used soil (earth) to make man because He wants us to know that this physical life in this physical body is empty, lifeless and unfinished! God breathed life into the man, and the man started breathing. in the same verse is telling us that it is Christ who gives us true life through His words. He is not done yet. He is making us into a new creation. That's why He said this: Gen 1:26 God said, "Now we will make humans, and they will be like us. We will let them rule the fish, the birds, and all other living creatures." Gen 1:27 So God created humans to be like himself; he made men and women. Our Lord Jesus Christ is the image of the Father, the invisible God. He is choosing some people to change first to be like Him. But in the end, everyone will be changed to be like Him. 1Co 15:49 Just as we are like the one who was made out of earth (Adam), we will be like the one who came from heaven (Christ). 1Co 15:50 My friends, I want you to know that our bodies of flesh and blood will decay [rot]. This means that they cannot share in God's kingdom, which lasts forever. This body is a temporary body. We will all be given a spirit body. 1Co 15:51 I will explain a mystery [a secret, a parable] to you. Not every one of us will die, but we will all be changed. As Christ teaches us through our parents and Bible teachers, we become more and more like Him. The people that He chooses to change first to be like Him are called the elect or the body of Christ. We all start out like Adam, proud. But the elect is being made like Christ. We are not proud because we know that everything comes from Him. 1Co 4:7 What is so special about you? What do you have that you were not given? And if it was given to you, how can you brag? We all start out like Adam, selfish. But the elect is being made like Christ who

9 told us this: Mar 10:45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served; he came to serve and to give his life to redeem many people." Redeem might be a new word for you. It means save. Joh 3:17 God did not send his Son into the world to condemn its people. He sent him to save them! Did you see that kids? God sent His son to save the whole world! Remember what we learned in We are God's Creation - Part 1? Isa 55:10 "Rain and snow fall from the sky. But they don't return without watering the earth that produces seeds to plant and grain to eat. Isa 55:11 That's how it is with my words. They don't return to me without doing everything I send them to do." Christ is called the Word of God. Christ was sent by the Father to save the whole world. The Father said when He sends His Word, He will not fail to do everything that He sends them to do. So that means Christ will not fail to save the whole world. Dear children, it is only to the elect that He explains this truth that I am teaching you right now. The elect knows that all people will be saved. Most people believe that only a few people will be saved. The elect knows that we will all be changed and we will all be with Him. Most people don't know this. They think only a few people will be saved, and everyone else will be punished forever in a place called hell or the lake of fire. But what does the Bible say? 1Co 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

10 The Bible is a love story and not a horror story. It is the story of how our loving Father will change us from being proud, selfish and disobedient people into humble, loving and obedient children of God. He has been telling us this plan through code words since the beginning. There was darkness first before He created light. The day starts with the evening then the morning comes after. Next time, Lord willing, we will know more of the secret lessons hidden in the story of Adam and Eve.
