1 SPACE The Space series is designed by the German design duo Jehs+Laub. The duo is inspired by the human body and nature s ability to design itself. Their ambition is always to make things that are straightforward and not too labored. The Space series is designed from the idea of the comfortable feeling of sitting in a hand. The lines of the design resemble the paths, the roads and the fields of a landscape.

2 jehs+laub Jürgen Laub (b.1964) + Markus Jehs (b.1965) are both industrial designers from the Schwabisch Gmund University in They established the studio Jehs+Laub in 1994, and over the past couple of years they have designed furniture for Cassina, Renz, Thonet, Acerbis and lamps for Nemo and Belux. They have also designed the new showroom concept for Mercedes Benz, which has been implemented globally. The Space series started in Fritz Hansen as concept furniture, i.e. it was introduced as prototypes and the series received so much positive feedback; it was therefore a natural decision to introduce Space in Jehs+Laub about design: We want our products to look as if they had designed themselves. Like in nature. The seat is made of injection-moulded fibre-reinforced lacquered plastic. It comes in 2 colours: black and white. The base is made of lacquered steel matching the colour of the shell with transparent leg ferrules. There is a see through spacer block between seat and base. The chair comes with a range of fabric and leather front upholstery. Variations & Dimensions The Space chair comes in two variations: with and without swivel function. Height 76 cm Seat height 39 cm Width 85 cm Weight 18,5 kg upholstery The upholstery is available in the fabrics: Fame, Remix, Canvas, Hallingdal, Divina, Divina MD, Divina Melange and Milani. The leather includes: Soft, Rustic, Natural, White, Optical white, Elegance and Sense. Padding in fire-retardant foam is available. Environment & tests The chair can be completely disassembled into parts to be recycled or incinerated. The chair is tested according to EN 15373, strength, durability and stability, test level 2, general contract use, EN 1728, strength and durability, level 4 according to DS/INF 130, EN 1022: stability: complied with in the case of the non swivelling chair base, EN (BS 5852: ignition source 0 + 1): fire, cigarettes and matches*, CAL 117: fire* and BS 5952: fire, crib*. *Test method depends on local/national standards. Only complied with in the case of certain types of fabric. WARRANTY Standard goods have warranty for five years against manufacturing defects (i.e. materials and design). The warranty does not cover leather and other fabrics ordered as customers own or special material as well as products manufactured according to customer specifications. Normal wear and tear and damage of covers are not covered by the warranty. The warranty for wicker and lamps is 2 years. extended limited WARRANTY Fritz Hansen offers an extended limited warranty if you register your Space chair online at fritzhansen.com/my-republic. Registration with the product ID number must be made within three (3) months from the date of purchase, otherwise the extended limited warranty will not apply. Years of warranty: 5 years covers: Fabric, Lacquered base, Swivel, Leather: Soft. 10 years covers: Shell, Leather: Rustic, Natural, White, Optical white, Elegance, Sense.

Environment & tests The table can be completely disassembled into parts to be recycled or incinerated. The table is tested according to EN 1730: strength, durability and stability, level 4 according to DS/INF 131. The underside of the tabletop is lacquered glass. Available in black, white or grey lacquer with a polished edge. The tabletop edge is slightly bevelled. The underside of the tabletop has four discs where the legs are to be attached. The base is grey, black or white lacquered steel matching the colours of the table top and has transparent leg buttons. Variations & Dimensions The Space is available in two variations.
