1 THE FIRST INTERNATIONAL EDELWEISS COMPETITION 2016 GENERAL RULES The Competition is organized by the Lithuanian Community in Austria (LCA) Partners of the Competition: Kaunas Regional Association of Piano Teachers \ expert teacher Rasa Blebaitė Derbutienė Lithuanian school Ąžuoliukas in Vienna Director of the Competition Jolita Skinulytė, President of LCA Coordinator Raminta Zalieskytė, Manager of Lithuanian school in Vienna Ąžuoliukas Coordinator Lina Grigaitienė, Music teacher at Lithuanian school in Vienna Ąžuoliukas Competition place and time: the First International EDELWEISS Competition will be held in Vienna 2-3 December 2016 in Cancert Hall of the Musik Schule Simmering, Gottschalkgasse 10, Simmering 1110, Wien Participants: The Competition is open for young pianists of all nationalities who were born on or after 2 December 1997 and who play piano solo, or in ensemble (duets, trios, quartets; except for two pianos); instrumental ensembles containing piano (up to 4 members) Number of participants is limited. Preference will be given on a first-come, firstserved basis (according to application date). Participants who submitted the request, but have not paid the registration fee till 1 st of November, 2016, will be excluded from the participant list. REPERTOIRE: 2 works in different musical styles and moods, preferably at least one piece from the Baroque or Classical era Soloists perform works by heart Encores are optional Phonograms are prohibited Teachers cannot take part in ensembles

4 AWARDS GRAND PRIX winners (solo (A,D and ensembles (B,C) categories) will be awarded with diplomas, and prizes. The laureates of the 1 st 2 nd, 3 rd places (A, B, C, D categories) will be awarded with diplomas, and prizes. Diploma holders of the Competition will be awarded with diplomas and prizes. All participants will be given certificates and souvenirs, their teachers will receive certificates. The Competition reserves the right to all recordings of all live performances and concerts of the Competition without any compensation to the competitors APPLICATION PROCEDURE Entries must be made on the attached Application Form and sent by konkursas.edelweiss@gmail.com OR by registered mail to: Edelweiss, Amalienstrasse 42/3/6, 1130 Wien, Österreich. Applications and program changes are accepted until 1 st of November, Registration fees are accepted from 1 st of September till 1 st of November. The program changes during the Competition is prohibited. The following documents should be included with the Application Form: a) a copy of the birth certificate (the original must be brought to the Competition); b) a recent photo of the participant c) a copy of the payment, if the application is submitted after 1 st of September, When the application is submitted before 1st of September, 2016, then copy of the payment should be additionally provided per konkursas.edelweiss@gmail.com. The organizer does not take any responsibility for loss or damage of documents prior to receipt. All the information about registration, rehearsals and Competition will be announced until 16 st of November, 2016.
