1 SAN DIEGO CHILDREN'S CHOIR UNIFORM DESCRIPTION SHEET & PURCHASING INFORMATION 2016/2017 SEASON CASUAL UNIFORM - ALL CHOIRS All Choirs: Casual uniforms are worn during rehearsals in public, casual performances, and most All-Togethers unless otherwise specified. White Choir polo - to be purchased from Dennis Uniform Dark blue jeans. Jeans must be full length and plain; no capris, not torn or embroidered, no acid wash or with any markings on them, and not excessively tight or excessively baggy. Solid black tennis or canvas shoes (no designs or other colors). Returning choristers who still have all white tennis or canvas shoes are still allowed to wear them. Red Choir sweatshirt (for outdoor performances) - to be purchased from Dennis Uniform If the Chorister has to wear a belt, it must be a black belt.

2 FORMAL UNIFORM - BY CHOIR LEVEL PREPARATORY CHOIR Preparatory choristers are required to purchase from Dennis Uniform the formal uniform below. 3 CONCERT CHOIR Concert Choir choristers are required to purchase a uniform from True Grits School Uniforms. Short-sleeved white oxford shirt Plaid 159 necktie (easy-clasp) Red blazer Black pants or skirt and black tights for girls Black pants for boys Concert Girls Note: Girls may purchase either the skirt and tights or the pants but do not have to purchase both. If the pants are chosen, black trouser socks must be worn. Shoes: Matte black character shoe with a rubber sole, a heal no higher than 1.5 inches, and a strap over the bridge of the foot (no T strap). If you cannot find a character shoe that comes with a rubber sole, it can easily and inexpensively be added at any shoe repair shop. Concert Boys Shoes: Black, lace-up dress shoes (no athletic shoes or shiny leather).

4 Chamber Choir Choristers Note: All formal black uniforms must be ordered through the Choir Office. Measurements are taken during uniform fitting day and are ordered in bulk. Girls: Stage Accents Sarina Dress (to be hemmed to touch the top of the foot with performance shoes on) and string of white pearls. Shoes: Matte black character shoe with a rubber sole, a heal no higher than 1.5 inches, and a strap over the bridge of the foot (no T strap). If you cannot find a character shoe that comes with a rubber sole, it can easily and inexpensively be added at any shoe repair shop. Boys: Southeastern Tux with bow tie and cummerbund. Shoes: Black, lace-up dress shoes (no athletic shoes or shiny leather).

5 UNIFORM PURCHASE INFORMATION Dennis Uniform (All Casual Uniforms and Prep & Intermediate Formal Uniforms) School Code: D Ponderosa Ave. Ste. D San Diego, CA or True Grits School Uniforms (Concert Formal Uniforms) School Code: SDC Opportunity Rd San Diego, CA Any Chorister who fails to dress or groom properly for a performance may not be permitted to participate. The executive director, the music directors, or a designated representative of the SDCC Staff will make all final decisions about dress code questions. Hair and Jewelry Hair must be neatly brushed and fastened away from the face so that eyes and eyebrows are visible (for the purpose of displaying facial expression) with natural colored barrettes or elastics. No bows, ribbons, scrunchies, headbands, colored barrettes or colored elastics. Hair color must be natural in color. Any portions of dyed hair must be concealed. No excessive jewelry will be allowed. Only understated, small earrings and rings will be allowed. Jewelry that cannot be removed must be concealed. No bracelets or necklaces unless part of the uniform. Please consult a chaperone or someone in the Choir Office and he or she will advise you on the appropriateness of a chorister's jewelry, hair, or accessories. Make-up and Nail Polish No colored nail polish. Clear, nude, or French manicure is acceptable. Preparatory and Intermediate Choristers are not permitted to wear any make-up or cosmetics. Tasteful, natural-looking make-up is permitted for Concert and Chamber choristers. No temporary tattoos on areas of the body that cannot be easily covered (such as hands and arms). Permanent tattoos must also be covered. Uniform Care Call sheets provide instructions about uniform requirements for each performance or workshop. It is recommended chorister's try on a uniform a week before a performance to allow time for adjustments to be made, including new uniform purchases. Undergarments Undergarments should not be visible. Girls undergarments should be skin-toned underneath white blouses. Those wearing trousers must wear black or dark blue socks.
