4 Control Panel Start Key (all functions). 2. Stop (cancels or pauses current job). 3. Reset (returns all functions to default). 4. Sleep Mode(Device enters energy save mode). 5. Clear (clears all entered numbers\characters. 6. Fax. 7. Scan to a Network Folder. 8. Copy. 9. Scan to Screen Contrast Adjustment. 1
5 Help Feature Press the? In the top right hand of the screen & the Help menu Appears. Select the feature you require assistance with and help is displayed press OK. You will now be able to chose from various features by pressing the feature on the screen a guide will be displayed (As shown below ). 2
6 How to Change the Paper Trays 1.Select the Supplies Status tab. 1 2.Within the Trays tab select the tray you wish to change. 2 3.You can change the Size & Type by using the arrow keys to scroll through the options press your selection then press OK to save. 3 3
7 Quick Copy Load originals face up into the ADF (Face Up). To change the Default settings touch the Copy function and adjust default settings then press OK. Key in the number of copies required. Press the Green Start Button. 4
8 Duplex Mode From within the Copy options, select Sides. Select whether your originals are single or double sided. If required, change the orientation. Press OK then press the Green Start Key. 5
9 How to Copy Multiple Pages onto 1 Sheet From within the Copy options, scroll down to page 2 and select Pages per Sheet Select the number of pages to be copied onto each sheet. Tick the Add page borders, if required. 6
10 How to Staple/Collate From within Copy options, select Staple/Collate Removing the Collate tick will copy your documents into sets of all page 1 together, all page 2 together, all page 3 together....and they will not be stapled. Please note, the staple function is only available with a Finisher attached to the left hand side of the machine. 30 sheets of paper is the maximum that can be stapled. 7
11 Booklet Creation How to Create an A5 Booklet Insert the pages into the document feeder face up, in numerical order with page 1 on top. From within the Copy options, scroll down to page 2 and select Booklet Format Select Booklet on and specify if the originals are 1 or 2-sided Tick the Add page borders, if required press OK Then Green Start key. The default booklet size is A5. 8
12 Scan To 1.Select Press the From screen & enter your name or address via the on screen key board. 3. Press the To screen & enter the recipients address. 4. 13 Scan To Folder 1 1. Select Network Folder. Accounts Scans 2 3 Admin Scans \\Accounts\Scans 2. Select Destination Folder from list. 3. Press the File Name screen to input a File Name. Press the Green start key to send. To Change Default Options refer to page
14 Scan Options Applies to Scan To / Folder File Type PDF, JPEG, TIFF, MTIFF. 2. Quality, Low, Medium, High. 3. Resolution 75,150, 200, 300DPI. 4. Colour / Black Scan. 5. Original Sides 1 sided or 2 sided originals can be scanned. 6. Content Orientation (Portrait, Landscape). 7. Original Size 8. Text / Picture (Text, Photograph). 9. Job Build when set to On allows you to build a job up in batches to send it as 1 complete file. 10. Image Adjustment ( Lighten, Darken, Sharpness, Background Cleanup ). 11
15 How to Send A Fax 1.Select the Fax option. 1 2.To manually enter a number press Fax Recipients then enter the number via the numeric keyboard the press the arrow to add the list. More than one number can be added to the Recipient list Speed Dials can be preset for frequently used numbers. 12
16 How To Check Supply Levels 1. Select Supplies Status Press the Supplies tab Toner levels are displayed on screen. 4. Press Details & the screen below will be displayed Press OK to return to Home screen. 13
17 Does the Machine require Attention? The machine will prompt you if it needs attention on how to rectify the fault. Below are some examples
18 Paper Jams 1. Top-cover and printcartridge areas. 2. Envelope-feeder area and tray 1 area (the envelope feeder is optional). 3. Tray 2 and optional 500- sheet feeder areas. 4. Duplex area (the duplex is optional). 5. Output area. 6. ADF. The Paper tray can be completely removed to access paper jams. The Right-hand side door can be opened. Open up the machine as shown by lifting the release lever.remove the Image Unit to remove paper & Use the green handle to lift the paper-access plate. 15
