2 Searching for an attractive, versatile and economic track mounted spotlight tailored to all display applications? Prospector could be your answer! One reason is it s inspirational good looks, offering consistent contempory styling, in a choice of white or silver/grey. But more to the point is the way it harnesses the latest LED and metal halide lighting technologies to concentrate customer s attention. With a choice of wattages (from 12W to 70W) and beam distributions, Prospector spotlights are equally capable of either pinpointing individual displays, or suffusing large spaces with light. And there is a broad range of performance-enhancing attachments. All of which is helping shops to present their wares - and shoppers to see them - in exactly the right light. Prospector HIT Flexibility in use In two sizes - small (S) and medium (M) - they are available in silver grey and white Wide choice of metal halide wattages (20W, 35W and 70W) make it easy to choose the right model for the application Three different distributions - 14 spot, 22 flood and 34 wide flood, all available with interchangeable reflectors. Distribution can thus be adjusted simply by changing the reflector The front ring and reflector are fitted with a twist-lock joint to facilitate easy changing by hand The integral socket joint allows adjustability through two axes: 365 horizontal and 90 tilt, locked by an Allen screw A variety of accessories are available: filters, barn doors and antiglare louvres. 3 Performance, Efficiency and Comfort (PEC) for a better lit environment Prospector evokes the spirit of Thorn Lighting s dynamic, results-orientated PEC programme The programme is based on the principle that Performance, Efficiency and Comfort determine the effectiveness of lighting, its impact on the people using it, and its impact on the natural environment. For display and accent lighting a few general points should be noted. The human eye is able to perceive its environment on a wide range of illumination levels at nearly identical levels of comfort and performance. However to provide light accents requires at least 1½ 2 times more brightness than the surrounding areas. So accent lighting becomes a matter of providing the same performance efficiently. At an average level of 1000lx you d need at least lx in order to provide accents to displays, models or special offers. An average level of 500lx provides similar comfort and performance of visual perception and you can save 50% of energy for lighting compared to 1000lx average levels. As soon as the accent lighting is directed to the point of sale only, without causing additional spill light to the surroundings, highlighting becomes more effective, raising the level of illumination more efficiently with respect to the background light levels. This provides even more flexibility in designing attractive scenes in a sustainable manner. Prospector is a universally applicable lighting tool to fit existing lighting layouts as well as sustainable and future oriented concepts. Performance: Providing the best visual effectiveness The wide selection of lamp wattages and beam angles available provide greater flexibility in the lit effect. This ensures that features, textures and colours are displayed correctly, allowing the modelling of the subject to be optimised Efficiency: Conserving energy and effort, reducing CO 2 emissions and waste, providing lighting that is practical and efficient to install, operate and maintain. The use of high efficacy light sources reduces power demand and conserves energy The facility to install multiple lighting points on one 3-circuit track eases installation and maintenance, allowing multiple heads to be serviced at the same time The integral tilt fixing, aids maintenance and cleaning and, for metal halide versions, lamp changes High quality precision optics support high luminaire efficiency featuring well controlled reduction of spill light. For instance linear track speaks of direction, whether intentionally or otherwise. 4 Prospector LED The spotlight s specular facetted precision reflector features Cree s 12W LED light engine and innovative True White technology, a patented method of delivering warm-white light with superior colour rendering and efficiency. It delivers a 2700K light with a CRI > 90 With these attributes, the LED spotlight achieves the lighting level, and quality, of a 35W low-voltage halogen reflector lamp for just a third of the energy consumption! A 2 x 9.5 beam angle ensures precise, uniform, accent lighting for retail and display applications The long service life (50,000 hours at 70% lumen maintenance) is supported by heat pipe cooling transmission, with the heat produced by the LED light engine dissipated from the body via integrated cooling fins. The heat sink design also keeps the body size as compact as conventional spotlights Prospector LED is versatile and flexible in use. There are two mounting options: direct to 3-circuit track or cable suspended for use as a pendant. The former has 365 rotation and up to 90 tilt, lockable via an Allen screw. Integrating the LED driver within the track adaptor box or ceiling canopy retains consistency of design By using LEDs it emits neither IR nor UV radiation, thus reducing any concerns regarding the discolouration and deterioration of sensitive objects and materials. An LED light source also contains no mercury and no lead Switches on and off instantaneously Prospector LED combines the positive attributes of existing spotlight designs, but in addition it possesses novel characteristics which are not exhibited by any other well-established light source, thus opening up additional retail and display possibilities.
