2 Please read the safety nstructons booklet before settng up the projector. Unpack the box Here's what's ncluded: Audo/vdeo cables are not ncluded. You can buy them at or from your local electroncs retaler. Projector Power Cord Connect expanson module (f purchased wth projector) Make sure the projector s turned off and the power cord s unplugged before connectng or dsconnectng a module. Outlne 4 Completely retract the projector s elevator foot (f needed) The foot s under the front of the projector. Remove the rubber connector cover from the bottom of the projector Save t n case you dsconnect the module later. Look at the outlne on top of the module to correctly poston the projector Snap the projector down onto the module Press down untl you hear a clck.

3 Connect to the vdeo source (DVD player, game console, VCR, etc.) Connect vdeo wth a Composte Vdeo Cable (good) or an S-Vdeo Cable (better) part number SP-CPSTVID-5M or SP-SVIDEO-0M Connect audo wth an RCA Audo Cable part number SP-RCAAUD-5M RCA Audo Cable Composte Vdeo Cable Good OR S-Vdeo Cable Better R L vd s-vdeo Vdeo Out L R Audo Out DVD, Game, VCR, etc. Note: Your vdeo source may look dfferent. Look for color-coded connectons. Some expanson modules may nclude addtonal connectors See the module s Reference Gude for more nformaton. 4 4 Plug n and turn on the projector Plug the power cord nto the projector and nto an electrcal outlet Press the power button The wat lght wll blnk untl the lamp turns on. Lens sec. nput Wat for the projector lamp to turn on It can take a mnute for the projector lamp to reach full brghtness. Warnng: Do not look drectly nto the lens when the projector s turned on. Turn on the vdeo source and show the pcture Turn on your DVD player, game console, VCR, etc. Note: If an expanson module s connected, t turns on automatcally when the projector s on. No pcture? Press the nput button to swtch between vdeo nputs You may need to press t several tmes. Wat a few seconds between each press. If there s stll no pcture or sound, see Troubleshootng.

5 6 Adjust the pcture Heght Turn the elevator foot under the front of the projector or expanson module. Focus Turn the focus dal on the sde of the projector. Sze To get a pcture ths sze (dagonally)... 60" /.5m 80" / m 9" /.m the projector must be ths far away: 7'7" /.m 0'" /.m '7" /.5m 7 Turn off the projector Hold down the power button untl the projector lamp turns off The wat lght wll blnk whle fan cools the lamp. Note: The projector won t respond to commands whle the wat lght s blnkng. Don t unplug the projector untl the wat lght stops blnkng.

6 Projector controls and status lghts lamp lght see Projector lamp (below) for more nfo wat lght blnks whle the projector s warmng up or coolng down power button turns the projector on and off volume buttons adjust speaker audo volume brghtness buttons adjust pcture brghtness nput button swtches between vdeo sources (composte vdeo, S-vdeo, plus any sources from an expanson module) 6 Projector lamp The projector s lamp has a lfetme of 000 hours. Lamp lght Turns on when remanng lamp lfe s low, or when lamp lfe has expred (also turns on f the lamp unexpectedly fals). Low lamp symbol Shown on screen when remanng lamp lfe s crtcally low. To buy a new lamp, go to Before replacng the lamp, unplug the projector and wat hour. Detaled nstructons are ncluded wth the replacement lamp. Dsconnectng an expanson module 4 4 Place the module on a frm flat surface and turn off and unplug the projector. Press n the release button under the front of the module. Lft the front of the projector up slghtly. Lft the projector completely off the module. Replace the rubber connector cover on the bottom of the projector.

7 Troubleshootng No pcture or sound, bad pcture, or InFocus s shown nput Make sure the projector s on. Press the power button to turn on the projector. Check the vdeo source and cables. Make sure the vdeo source (DVD player, VCR, etc.) s turned on and all cables are securely connected between the vdeo source and the projector. Press the nput button. You may need to press t several tmes to see the correct vdeo source. Wat a few seconds after each press. Projector won t turn on Check the power cord. Make sure t s plugged nto the projector and a lve electrcal outlet. If the lamp lght s on, unplug the power cord, wat one mnute, then plug t n agan. If the projector beeps and the lamp lght turns on agan rght away (before you turn on the projector), then the lamp needs to be replaced. Buy a new lamp at If the wat lght s blnkng, the projector s warmng up or coolng down. Try agan after the wat lght turns off. If an expanson module s attached to the projector, make sure the module s securely and correctly attached to the projector. Projector turned off by tself If the temperature symbol was shown before the projector turned off, the projector was too hot. Make sure nothng s blockng vents on the sdes or bottom of the projector (and any expanson module). Wat at least one mnute before turnng the projector back on. If there s no sgnal from the selected vdeo source, the projector wll turn tself off after 0 mnutes. If the lamp lght s on, see Projector won t turn on (above). Note: If the projector s stll workng but the lamp lght s on, remanng lamp lfe s low. Low lamp symbol s shown Remanng lamp lfe s crtcally low. The lamp should be replaced soon. Buy a new lamp at Module error symbol s shown The expanson module s not correctly communcatng wth the projector. Turn off and unplug the projector, dsconnect and re-connect the expanson module, then plug n the projector and turn t back on. If the symbol s stll shown, contact InFocus servce at Note: To use the projector alone, dsconnect the module.

8 Warnng: In the unlkely event of a lamp rupture, partcles may be ejected from the projector. Keep out of the area under and around the projector when t s turned on.
