3 Tapton School Academy Trust - Vision & Ethos Tapton School Academy Trust (TSAT) was formed in 2012 and sponsored Chaucer School. Another Outstanding Ofsted judgement for Tapton in 2013 gave the opportunity to partner with King Ecgbert School to build the Escafeld Teaching School Alliance. This has given rise to secure and effective leadership, training and support for our growing Trust family of schools. In September this year we became eight schools 3 secondary and five primary. Tapton, Chaucer and Forge Valley are our Secondaries and our Primaries are Southey Green, Meynell, Hillsborough, Wisewood and Hallam. They are all linked in a shared endeavour our mission is to provide an outstanding education to all our pupils We are passionate that all our young people should see their time at school as safe, happy and fulfilling. Our approach is founded on deeply effective partnership working inextricably joining our schools, pupils, parents and their communities.
4 Tapton School Academy Trust - Vision & Ethos Our provision for pupils and parents All Tapton School Academy Trust Schools will offer: A genuine inclusive approach which ensures the best possible attainment, progress and achievement for every pupil. A broad and balanced, enriched curriculum which is delivered by consistently high quality teaching. Every Academy is non selective and our admissions are co-ordinated by Sheffield Local Authority. We work very closely with DfE, LA and the family of Sheffield Schools in order to plan strategically for our shared improvement agenda. All of our schools are founding members of Learn Sheffield, a new company operated to bring about a rapid improvement in all settings. We value our excellent working relationships with Trade Unions. Recognition agreements are in place for all major Sheffield Unions and all TSAT Schools support union activities by paying into the facilities time agreement.

8 Job Advert Post: Site Manager School: Tapton School Academy Trust Primary Schools Start Date: 1 st January 2017 Salary: Grade 6-23,935 to 28,203 Hours / Weeks: 37 hours per week 52 weeks per year An opportunity has arisen to work across the 5 Primary Schools within Tapton School Academy Trust. These schools include Hallam, Hillsborough, Meynell, Southey Green and Wisewood Primary schools. The successful applicant will work with the Trust Facilities Manager in providing a Facilities Management service to the 5 schools within the Trust. Each of the sites within the estate are of differing sizes and need. There is a new structure in place that is developing rapidly and the successful applicant will become integral to the Trust Facilities provision. Each of the schools are members of Tapton School Academy Trust. Tapton is an Outstanding secondary school in Sheffield and the Academy Trust is rapidly establishing itself within the city. Membership of the Academy Trust provides a range of opportunities for partnership working and continuing professional development with an outstanding secondary school and a network of primary schools within the locality. We are all working together to establish really effective practice for the benefit of every child. You will need to: Have excellent line management skills Be able to work under pressure and to deadlines Have a strong understanding of Facilities Management (desirable within education) Have strong team work skills and be able to work as part of a team as well as direct a team Be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written Work on your own initiative A background within the building industry would be desirable

10 Roles, Responsibilities & Person Specification Site Manager 5 sites This exciting opportunity is due to Tapton School Academy Trust providing a centralised Facilities solution across the 5 Primary Schools and 3 Secondary Schools which are part of the Trust. The role will be to work under the direction of the Trust Facilities Manager in providing an outstanding support network for all of the schools within the Trust but predominantly within the Primary sector of the Trust. This role will include the following responsibilities: Line Management responsibility (alongside Trust Facilities Manager) 8 Building Supervisors, 30 cleaners, supporting all elements of Line Management including, appraisals, sickness absence and capability. Health & Safety Responsibility Supporting the Trust Facilities Manager and the site teams in providing H&S support including site wide Risk Assessments. Tendering of work Supporting the Trust Facilities Manager in tendering for capital and repairs work across the 5 Primary Schools, including meeting contractors, providing specifications of work and supporting the processes around tendering. Project Management To be the point of contact for capital works during term time and non-term time, chairing project management meetings with contractors, challenging progress and costs. Point of contact for the Building Supervisors / Cleaning Teams To be available to discuss any issues or concerns within school.
