1 Office 365 User Guide CAM has moved all mailboxes to Microsoft Office 365, a cloud based office applications solution. The Christian Aid account with Microsoft provides each CAM user with computer resources that we would be unable to provide with local servers. The highlights are: each user can have an inbox as large as 50GB, each user has a virtual hard-drive of 1000GB with the OneDrive tool. Contents Account Name and Password... 1 Worldwide Web browser... 1 Anywhere Anytime... 3 Android and Apple mobile devices... 3 Built-in app... 4 Apple IOS... 4 Android... 4 Turning off Clutter processing... 4 Account Name and Password Your account name is your CAM address, e.g., stevem@christianaid.org. Your password is the same that you use to login to your CAM PC. Passwords are kept in sync between the Charlottesville servers and Office 365. Anytime that you update your password, the Office 365 servers will be in sync in about 10 minutes. Worldwide Web browser You have access to your mailbox via the Microsoft Online website. You can access this site from any browser almost anywhere. Just remember that the site name is microsoftonline.com and any web browser will find it for you. You will see this window.

2 Use your christianaid.org address and your regular, everyday Windows password to login. The first time you connect via the web you will see a page will asking you to choose language and time zone. Most of us will choose English (US) and Eastern Time (US and Canada). The page will update to this. This is your personal portal to Office 365. Select the Mail tool and the page will update to a view of your inbox. The web version of Office 365 looks and works even more like Outlook than previous web versions.

3 You can use the gear icon in the upper right corner to change settings. You can change how Outlook displays the folder and reading panes. You can change your automatic signatures. Notice the 9-dot pattern in the upper left part of the page. This is the link that gets you back to the tool selector. Use the tools selector for other Office 365 Online tools. Office 365 provides very capable versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other Office tools. You can use these tools to edit and create documents. The documents can be stored on your PC or on your Office 365 OneDrive. You can also configure OneDrive to synchronize folders on your PC so that you have access to the folder contents from anywhere, anytime. Anywhere Anytime Use a web browser on your home PC to connect to microsoftonline.com. On your personal home PC, it is a good idea to bookmark the site for easy access. You can even use borrowed PC (e.g., family or friend) to access your and documents. IT Support advises that you use a Private Session to connect so that the borrowed PC doesn t remember your account when you disconnect. Firefox calls this a New Private Window that you access from the menu found in the upper right of the main window. Chrome calls it a New Incognito Window that you access from the menu found in the upper right of the main window. Microsoft Internet Explorer makes the process more difficult and calls InPrivate Browsing which you find by clicking the gear menu in the upper right, choose Safety and then InPrivate Browsing. Android and Apple mobile devices On Android phones and tablets (version 4.0 and above) use the Google Play store and search for Outlook. Choose the app named Microsoft Outlook (do not choose the Outlook Web App). The App icon looks like the picture below. When you start the app for the first time select Office 365 as the account

4 type and provide your account. The app will automagically find your account and the required settings. The instructions are the same for Apple IOS devices except that you use the itunes store. Built-in app On both Android and Apple devices you can use the built-in app. The configuration is much more complicated. Use the official Outlook App unless your device is too old to run it (e.g., Android 3.4.x). If you choose to use the built-in app you must go into advanced settings and configure outlook.office365.com as the server address. Apple IOS 1. Go into Settings. Scroll down to Mail, Contacts, Calendars and tap into it. 2. Tap into your christianaid.org account. 3. Scroll down to Outgoing Mail Server and tap SMTP; tap on Primary Server. 4. The name probably reads mail.christianaid.org. It must be changed to outlook.office365.com. 5. tap Done and you will see that it shows you outlook.office365.com as Primary Server. 6. Power off and power on your phone and verify your inbox. Android These instructions are based on Android Gingerbread (version 2.3.x). More recent phones will likely be running version 4.0 or above. 1. Open the app and long-press your christianaid.org account until the settings window appears. 2. Select Account Settings and then tap Exchange Server Settings. 3. Edit the server setting to be outlook.office365.com. 4. Select Next to verify your settings. 5. Shutdown and restart your phone and then verify your inbox. Turning off Clutter processing Microsoft recently introduced a feature that they think is fantastic but that no one actually likes. Outlook looks at your incoming messages and tosses some of them into your Clutter folder. It is easy to turn off Clutter processing.

5 At the bottom of the message see the link to Options. Follow this and it will take you to the web version of your mailbox. Login with your name and password and you will see Un-check the box that says Separate items identified as clutter. From now on Outlook will deliver all to your inbox.
