1 Apalachicola River Bird List Apalachicola River Wildlife Management Area Symbols used in this checklist Type species confirmed on this site species probably occurs on this site, based on habitat, range and (usually) confirmed occurrence in nearby regions. exotic (non-native) species Seasons March-May June-August September-November December-February Species is known to breed in the area Species probably breeds in the area Florida s Wildlife Management Areas and Environmental Areas are home to an incredible diversity of birds. A continuous turnover of species in response to migratory movements ensures birders ever-changing experiences matched to the seasons. We have prepared this checklist of birds to help you keep track of our spectacular and precious birdlife. You may also consult on-line with FWC s Bird atlas data (MyFWC.com/bba). Birds occurring near the WMA/WEA, but not actually recorded within its borders, are counted on the list if suitable habitat exists and if reasonable probability exists that the bird will occur there in the future. Thus, very rare birds recorded outside the WMA are not included on the list, but common birds are. How you can help This checklist is just a starting point. We are counting on you and other birders to let us know if you note additions or changes in status to species on this list. Please send corrections to: Office of Recreation Services Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission 620 S. Meridian Street Tallahassee, FL For more information visit MyFWC.com/recreation
