2 Welcome to Issue 42 of our FSF Cymru information booklet for Welsh fans. This is our final game before the Euro 2016 tournament begins in a few days in France and many fans will make this a short visit in order to return home and prepare for the historic Welsh venture into a major finals. A good idea would be to scan your passport and e mail it to yourself. TOGETHER STRONGER FCO Know before you go information for British citizens traveling to Sweden Crime levels are low,however, there is some petty crime. Pick pocketing can be a problem in the major cities when tourists are targeted for passports and cash. There are heavy punishments for importing illegal drugs. If you re visiting Sweden you should get a free European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) before leaving the UK. The EHIC isn t a substitute for medical and travel insurance, but it entitles you to state provided medical treatment that may become necessary during your trip. Any treatment provided is on the same terms as Swedish nationals. If you don t have your EHIC with you or you ve lost it, you can call the Department of Health Overseas Healthcare Team ( ) to get a Provisional Replacement Certificate. The EHIC won t cover medical repatriation, ongoing medical treatment or non-urgent treatment, so you should make sure you have adequate travel insurance and accessible funds to cover the cost of any medical treatment and repatriation. Pharmacies are usually open during normal shop opening hours. You can also get an emergency prescription at hospitals. The currency for Sweden is Swedish Krona, not the Euro. 100 Swedish Krona equals aprox (May 2016) The British embassy advise us that if you need urgent assistance whilst in Sweden, for instance, if you have been attacked, arrested or there is a death you should call +46(0) The British Embassy does not deal with passports it is the job of the Consulate department who will be able to issue an Emergency travel document in case of loss or theft. 3 Stockholm Stockholm, the capital of Sweden, encompasses 14 islands of the vast Stockholm archipelago on the Baltic Sea. It has a population of just over 900,000 and the old town is home to a 13th-century cathedral, the royal palace of Kungliga Slottet and its underground armoury, cafes and restaurants. Ferries and sightseeing boats shuttle passengers between islands, beneath more than 50 bridges There is lots to see and do within the city and the main attractions you should try to get to see include The Vasa Museum The Vasa is the only preserved seventeenth-century ship in the world, and a unique art treasure. More than 95 percent of the ship is original, and it is decorated with hundreds of carved sculptures. The 69 meter-long warship Vasa sank on its maiden voyage in the middle of Stockholm in 1628, and was salvaged 333 years later in For nearly half a century the ship has been slowly, deliberately and painstakingly restored to a state approaching its original glory. The three masts on the roof outside the specially built museum show the height of the ship's original masts. Today the Vasa Museum is the most visited museum in Scandinavia, with over one million visitors a year. The Royal Palace Is one of the largest palaces in Europe! The Royal Palace is the official residence of His Majesty the King of Sweden, with over 600 rooms. The Palace is open to the public and offers no less than five museums. Gamla Stan, the Old Town, is one of the largest and best preserved medieval city centres in Europe, and one of the foremost attractions in Stockholm. This is where Stockholm was founded in All of Gamla Stan and the adjacent island of Riddarholmen are like a living pedestrian-friendly museum full of sights, attractions, restaurants, cafés, bars and places to shop. ABBA The Museum & Swedish Music Hall of Fame This is a place where you walk in and dance out! The music, the clothes, the lyrics, musicals, and films of ABBA have been gathered in Stockholm and are on display in a permanent exhibition. The ticket system is based on entry slots to avoid long lines and give every visitor the ultimate experience. In other words, your tickets will state a specific entry time. 4 General information for Welsh fans in Stockholm FAW tickets information Lucy Mason will not be in Stockholm but ticket collections can be made at the Radisson Blu waterfront hotel where Matthew Evans ( FAW Ticketing officer) will be in the hotel foyer on the Saturday June 4 th 11 am -3 pm and Sunday June 5 th 10 am -noon. There are no sales on the day but collections can be made here and any ticket queries can be answered Matthew Evans The hotel is located at Nils Ericsons Plan 4, which is a 3-minute walk from Stockholm Central Station and an 8-minute walk from Stockholm City Hall. In Sweden emergency numbers for the police, the ambulances and the firemen are united in the unique 112 emergency number. You should only use this number for real emergencies For 24h non-emergency health advice and care, dial 1177 Welsh Police FSF Cymru We know Welsh football fans often visit other stadiums whilst abroad and with that in mind we recommend a visit to the newly built Stockholmsarenan (above) known as the Tele2 Arena for sponsorship reasons, is a multipurpose stadium located in the district of Johanneshov within the capital city of Stockholm. Used primarily for the football matches of Allsvenskan team Djurgårdens IF Fotboll, the 30,000 all seater arena first opened in TRAIN The district of Enskede where Tele2 Arena is located is essentially served by Årstaberg station which has direct connections to Stockholm Central station. Metro The arena is served by its own metro station which is known as Globen and is served by T-Bana lines number 19 and 29.

What a Consul can do: Contact relatives and friends and ask them to help you with money or tickets Advise on how to transfer funds Refer you to local Social Services Help you to get in touch with Local Lawyers or provide information on legal aid. Arrange for next of kin to be informed of accident or a death and advise on procedures Contact and visit British Nationals under arrest or in a Prison and, in certain circumstances, arrange for messages to be sent to relatives or friends Give guidance on organisations experienced in tracing missing persons Make representations on your behalf to the local authorities in certain circumstances But a Consul cannot: Intervene in court proceedings Get you out of prison Give legal advice or instigate Court proceedings on your behalf Get better treatment for you in hospital or prison than is provided for nationals Investigate a crime Pay your hotel, legal, medical or any other bills Pay for travel tickets for you Undertake work more properly done by travel representatives, airlines, banks or motoring organisations Obtain accommodation, work or work permit for you Renew or replace a Full British passport Before you travel anywhere in the world outside of the United Kingdom please visit the Know before you go website

6 British Embassy information for Welsh fans in Sweden Please contact us at the FSF if possible before seeking Embassy assistance, we will be able to guide you through the process. FSF Cymru Help line number is What to do if your British Passport is lost or stolen whilst in Sweden It is vital you report a lost or stolen passport as soon as possible to the local police and to the British Embassy even if you don't want to replace your passport immediately. This will reduce the risk of someone using your passport or your identity. When you report the loss or theft to the Consulate they will give you a Lost or Stolen (LS01) Notification form to fill in and sign. They will record the loss or theft of your passport and forward the information to Identity and Passport Service. The IPS will then cancel your passport to reduce the risk of someone else using your identity. You need to use form LS01 to report any loss or theft of your passport whether applying for a replacement passport or not. Once you report your passport as lost or stolen, it is electronically cancelled. If you find it, you will not be able to use it as a proof of identity, nationality, or for any other legal purpose. You must not use it as a means of identification as this may be detected as a potentially fraudulent act. You will also not be able to use it for travel. Doing so may cause the passport to be impounded by the Borders and Immigration Authority at UK ports or airports. If travelling overseas, you could face deportation or arrest. If your passport is lost or stolen the British Consulate in Stockholm can issue an emergency travel document that will get you home at a cost of approximately 95. Please contact the FSF Cymru help line if you need assistance, we have direct contact with the consulate. It can be very expensive paying for an emergency travel document and then having to pay for a new passport back in the UK. On arrival in Sweden ensure your passport is always safe and secure An emergency travel document allows you to leave the country you re in and travel to your destination via a maximum of 5 countries. The emergency travel document can also cover a return journey if you re resident in the country you re applying from. An emergency travel document doesn t guarantee entry to every country. You may also need a visa. Check with the embassy or consulate of the country or countries you re intending to travel to or through. You must present: 2 identical recent photographs of yourself - make sure they meet the rules for passport photo or your application will be delayed details of your intended travel plans - where and when you intend to travel (including countries you will travel through) a completed application form a police report if your passport has been lost or stolen You will have to pay a fee, equivalent to 95. Embassy or consulate staff will tell how much this is in local currency when you apply. Getting your emergency travel document The embassy or consulate staff will check that you re eligible for an emergency travel document. If you re not, they will tell you why. Please contact FSF Cymru we will try to assist with this process You may get the document on the day you apply if your circumstances are straightforward. If your circumstances are more complex, it can take longer. You may need to change your travel plans. Using your emergency travel document The emergency travel document will only be valid for the journey that you specified when you applied and for a specific period of time. This will be shown on the document. Your existing British passport will be cancelled in most cases. Immigration authorities may keep your emergency travel document when you arrive at your destination. You will need to get a replacement passport when back in the UK if you intend doing anymore travelling and pay the full costs, any fees that you paid for an emergency travel document will not be taken into account

7 The Friends Arena The Magnificent stadium above and the Welsh section top right, likely to be a seated area for our visit. Friends Arena is a retractable roof multi-purpose stadium located next to the lake Råstasjön in Solna, just north of Stockholm City. It is Sweden s recently opened new national stadium. It replaced the old Råsunda Fotbollstadion. Construction of the stadium began in May 2009, and the Friends Arena officially opened on the 27th of October 2012 with a concert night of Swedish artists. The first football match at the stadium was played on the 14th of November 2014 when the Swedish national team took on England. The Friends Arena has become the home of local side AIK from the start of the 2013 season. In a referendum, the club s fans chose the arena over the Tele2 Arena, The stadium has a capacity of 50,000 seats. 1 Arrive in good time before the game. 2 Use public transportation. Arenastaden is closed to car traffic. 3 Use the entrance stated on your ticket. Follow the signs in the area carefully. GETTING TO FRIENDS ARENA head to Stockholm Central station is best advice and use train or subway Commuter train (recommended for Welsh supporters) Get off at Solna Station, about 7 minutes from Stockholm Central Station. Walking from Solna Station to Friends Arena takes about 7-15 minutes. Stockholm Public Transport will provide extra mass transit services before and after the match. Follow the signs to the appropriate entrance. Subway Get off at the Solna Centrum subway station, about 9 minutes from the central station. Walking from Solna Centrum to Friends Arena takes about minutes. Extra Stockholm Public Transport buses (before and after events) We recommend that fans who come by bus give themselves plenty of extra time as buses can get stuck in traffic around Arenastaden. Bus 101 from Mörby Station to Friends Arena (Evenemangsgatan) Bus 102 from Sundbyberg Station to Friends Arena (Evenemangsgatan)

8 Stockholm Airports (Arlanda Airport) Stockholm is served by four international airports, the largest of which is Stockholm Arlanda Airport. Additional flight connections are available at Stockholm Västerås Airport, Stockholm Skavsta Airport and Stockholm Bromma Airport, though some of these are some distance away from the city itself. All four of Stockholm s airports are connected to downtown by airport coaches as well as municipal alternatives. From Stockholm Arlanda-Airport you can also choose the high-speed train service Arlanda Express. The majority of Welsh fans are using this airport so we will concentrate on this one for the purpose of the booklet. Stockholm-Arlanda Airport is located 40 kilometres (25 miles) north of Stockholm City. The Arlanda express train takes you from Arlanda Airport to the city centre. The platform is easily accessible, underneath the arrival terminals. Departure: every 15 minutes (for most of the day). Travel time: 20 minutes. Single Adult over 26 Single is SEK 280 ( 24) return SEK 540 ( 46) under 26 single SEK 150 ( 12.70) return SEK 300 ( 25) Fares can vary but much cheaper if you book SINGLE TICKETS in groups of 2,3 or 4 persons Two for SEK 300 ( 25.50) three for SEK 400 ( 34) four for SEK 500 ( 42) Taxi Services are available at Stockholm Arlanda Airport and Bromma Airport. Travel time: Stockholm Arlanda Airport: app 40 minutes, depending on time of day. Bromma Airport: app 15 minutes, depending on time of day. Credit cards are readily accepted. Please note: Taxi fares in Sweden aren't regulated, which means that prices can vary significantly between companies. With this in mind, we recommend that you use the services of well-known firms like Taxi Stockholm, Taxi 020 and Taxi Kurir Choose the company that best suits you, you need not take the car that stands head of the queue. Stockholm has an expansive public transport service, with two commuter train stations and six Metro stations in the Solna Municipality where the Friends Arena is situated. There is also a large bus network and a planned tram line due to open soon. Flygbussarna buses between Stockholm Arlanda and the Stockholm city centre run every ten minutes during most of the day. The route has bus stops along the motorway and at St Eriksplan. The fare is SEK 99 ( 8.50) and SEK 198 ( 17) return Automated machines in the terminals and at the bus stops The public transport company Upplands Lokaltrafik (UL) runs the airport coach route 801 between Uppsala and Arlanda. Buses depart twice an hour between 3 a.m. and 12 midnight.

9 Public transport Thanks to Stockholm s safe, punctual and efficient public transport system, you can quickly travel between different locations. everything is right on your doorstep. Stockholm Public Transport, SL, is responsible for buses, underground trains, commuter trains, trams and certain ferry lines in Greater Stockholm. The underground is the easiest way to get around town. The city is divided into three zones, and zone tickets are good for several trips within 75 to 120 minutes. Tickets can be purchased at SL Centres, underground platform barriers, newsagent kiosks, via SMS or via the SL app. It's not possible to pay cash for tickets on board buses in Stockholm. Board the bus through the front doors and touch in with your SL Access card/single use travel card on the blue card readers. If you use the app or text-me-a-ticket, you show your ticket on your mobile phone to the driver. At certain locations in Stockholm s city centre there are inspectors that admit passengers through the rear doors, too. When you wish to disembark, push the stop button. The word Stannar (stopping) lights up in the display on the bus. On Stockholm city centre blue buses you must also push a button to open the doors. This button is on the pole next to the door. At the Metro and Train there is a manned barrier and automatic barriers for those with cards at almost all of the stations. At the smaller country stations there might be no barriers at all. You must have credit (reskassa) on your SL Access card, buy a ticket with the app or text-me-a-ticket services, or buy a single use travel card in advance. Prepaid cards are the best alternative for those making few trips. It's also possible to buy 24, 72 hour or 7-day cards, which allow free travel in all zones during the validity period. A trip on the number 69 bus or number 7 tram that go out to Djurgården is a superb way to discover Stockholm. The tram connects you with major attractions like Skansen and the Vasa Museum. Stockholm is a city built on islands, 14 islands, and surrounded by two large lakes, the Baltic Sea and the fresh water lake Mälaren. Therefore the very best way to see the city is by boat, Stockholm by Water. So take a boat tour! 24h Bus & Boat Hop On - Hop Off Sightseeing The combination ticket with bus and boat sightseeing is the perfect choice for those who wants to see the most of Stockholm's best attractions in a short time. The ticket is valid for 24 hours on Open Top Tours' boats and buses. SEK 400 ( 34) The Old Town is the historical, medieval centre of Stockholm, don t miss it! Walk the alleys, visit the squares, listen to the musicians, have lunch and why not dinner in one of the many restaurants. And make the best of your time by joining one of the walking tours of a Local Guide

10 Out and about in Stockholm This is a very short visit for most Welsh fans who will be preparing for France next week so we will concentrate on the area near Central station, the main hub fans should use to get to the stadium. The first pub we recommend is the Bishops Arms. The Vasagatan branch - close to the Central Station/Arlanda Express. Very good choice of beers - and not too horribly expensive at all (considering Scandinavian drinks prices in general). Food is good (Fish & Chips). Atmosphere is convincingly pub-like (by UK standards). Staff are friendly and efficient - and being Sweden of course speak perfect English! Give it a go O'Leary's If you want to watch a sport, have a beer and some food, free Wi-Fi, good value for money, although still expensive by British standards and experience good service then this is the place for you. Nice place and very good service and attitude from the staff. The Laughing Duck Fun place to visit, excellent selection of beers and great French Fries. Make sure you look at the painting on the walls, famous people and groups with Duck faces. There is plenty about for those not fancying a drink, plenty of cafes, restaurants, fast food outlets including McDonalds and an abundance of coffee shops including Starbucks. The currency for Sweden is Swedish Krona, not the Euro. 100 Swedish Krona equals aprox (May 2016) so the prices below are Somersby 68 SEK for 33 cl ( 5.80) Bulmer's 88 SEK for 50 cl ( 7.50 P) 33 cl is half pint and 50 cl is almost a pint. 11 Gôl! the Welsh football fans Charity and Welsh Supporters team Our Supporters team has been busy since our last away game In Bosnia and as seen an influx of new young players as well as seeing some of the old guard still donning their boots and making the effort to compete against fans from other countries and make many friends along the way. In March the team played Northern Ireland in a 3-3 draw at the magnificent Principality stadium in Cardiff, thanks to sponsorship from Vauxhall, it turned out to be a day that the lads who played will never forget. At the end of March the team headed out to Kiev and a game was lined up against some Ukrainian fans who were joined by some former Ukraine international players in a game at a small stadium in the city. Pictured above you will see some familiar faces and our Ukrainian hosts were superb and put everything on for it to be a great occasion. It was also the scene of a great fightback by the Welsh team who came from behind to win amidst amazing scenes following a penalty shootout, big thanks must go to Igor Gomonai from the Ukraine Fan Embassy who was extremely helpful throughout the trip We have arranged a game in Stockholm,contact Neil Dymock for details. Gôl! organised tickets for young Welsh fans to attend the Northern Ireland game as they do for all Welsh home games. Out in Ukraine over 1,000 Euros was donated to good causes including two Buggies for a Children's cancer hospital in Kiev and we would like to thank the Welsh fans for their continued financial support, with many thousands being raised during the last campaign, mainly due to raffles on coaches. At the end of April the Chris Coleman joined us at Albion Sports and social club for a Q and A again raised almost 200. Gôl! Hope to be doing some more charitable work during this trip and have many activities planned for France
