1 Module One 1. Tienes buena memoria? (Memory) (Section One, Day Four) You may play with a partner or individually. With a partner: a. Mix up the cards. b. Place them face down on a table. c. The oldest person turns over two cards. d. If the word and the picture are a match the player keeps the pair. If they are not a match the player turns them over again. e. The second person turns over two cards and play continues until all the pairs are matched. f. The winner is the one with the most pairs. Individually: a. Mix up the cards. b. Place them face down on a table. c. Turn over two cards. d. If the word and the picture are a match keep the pair. If they are not a match turn them over again. e. Pick again and keep track of how many times it takes you to find all the pairs. Try again and beat your score. Remember as you play to name each picture or word you turn over using the model below. 2 2. El ahorcado (Hangman) (Section One, Day Ten) Player One secretly chooses a word with the article un/una or el/la. Example: la directora Player One draws one line for each letter adding a space between the article and the noun. Example: _ Player Two now chooses one letter at a time using correct Spanish pronunciation. If Player Two chooses a correct letter, Player One places it on the correct line. If the letter appears more than one time in the word, it is written in every place it occurs. For example if Player Two chooses a, Player One will write it twice. Example: _ a a If Player Two chooses a letter that is not present, Player One places a mark on the page and Player Two chooses another letter. Lives: Player Two has eight lives. He/she can get eight marks before losing the game. As Player Two calls out letters, Player One writes them down to keep track of what has been asked. Letters picked: U B F A Player Two may guess the word at anytime. If the guess is correct, Player Two wins. If the guess is incorrect, Player One places a mark and play continues. When Player Two has eight marks or has guessed the word, the roles change and a new game begins. Pg 122

Pick a picture and find the word that is a match. Do all the pictures the same way. When you have them all matched check your answers with the glossary. Mix them up and try again. 5. Va a pescar (Go Fish) (Section Two, Day Four; Section Four, Day Two) Pick a partner to play with. This could be a classmate or a family member. Mix up your playing cards. If you are playing with more than one person mix their decks of cards with yours. Pass five cards out to each player and place the rest in the center. Match up pairs of cards that you have in your hand before beginning. Place them face down in front of you. The player with the most cards starts. In the event of a tie, the shortest player will start. The first player asks his/her partner if he/she has a certain card. Examples: Tienes cuatro marcadores anaranjados? Tienes tres amigos? Tienes diez lápices verdes? If the player asked has the card, he/she says Sí! and gives the requested card. If the player doesn t have the card he/she says No, va a pescar! and the player asking must pick up a card from the center pile. Now the second player asks for a card. Play continues until all the cards are matched or until one player no longer has any cards. The player with the most pairs wins. Play again! Pg 124

Place all of the words in a container. Pick a word from the container, read it. If you have the matching picture on your card, mark it with a penny. If you don t have the picture, do nothing and pick another card. If you are playing with a partner, the first person to match all their squares wins. If you are playing individually count how many words it took to match up your squares and try to beat your score next time you play. Play as often as you would like. Pg 125
