2 FESTIVAL The Nocicinema cultural association presents NociCortinfestival, a short film festival held in the city of Noci, in the Apulian region of southern Italy. Through the support of public and private sponsors. FESTIVAL DATES The 5th edition of NociCortinfestival will take place in Noci on August. THE COMPETITION From the films screened at the festival, winners will be chosen in the following categories: Corti short films Corti Comici short comedy films Corti low cost short films produced at little or no expense (using conventional film methods or new methods such as webcams and cell phone video cameras) Films of all subjects and styles will be considered for selection, including fiction, nonfiction and animation. All films entered into the competition must have been produced after January 1, 2008, and must be no more than 30 minutes in length. We welcome films that have already been screened at other film events. Above all, we are looking for films that are original, creative and that tell an engaging story. AWARDS The NociCortinfestival jury, composed of actors, directors, producers, critics and university profesors, will award the following prizes: Premio NociCortinfestival - Best short film Prize: 1000 Euros Miglior Corto Comico - Best short comic film Prize: 500 Euros

3 In addition, the following prizes will be awarded: Premio Città di Noci - awarded to a short film chosen by the audience Prize: 500 Euros Migliore Corto Low Cost - best low-cost film, chosen by votes cast on our web site Prize: 500 Euros Premio Studenti - awarded to a short film choosen by students from local highschools GUIDELINES FOR SUBMITTING A FILM FOR TO THE FESTIVAL Entering a film in the NociCortinfestival is free. The following guidelines apply: A maximum of three short films may be submitted by each film maker. Films in Italian language must be supplied with: 1. A DVD of the short film (or a VHS standard PAL or a multimedia FILE). 2. The completed application form. Films not in Italian must be supplied with: 1. A copy of the short film with English or Italian subtitles (in DVD, VHS standard PAL or a multimedia FILE). 2. A copy of the short film without subtitiles (in DVD, VHS standard PAL or a multimedia FILE). 3. A copy of the script in English or Italian. 4. The completed application form. We also encourage all participants to send: 1. A photo of the film maker 2. Still frame photographs of the film 3. Promotional materials (cards, posters, playbills, etc.)

4 To enter a film, download the application form from our website. Mail a copy of the film together with the completed, signed application form to the following address: NociCortinfestival C/O Vincenzo De Marco - Vico Silvio Pellico, Noci (BA) Italy NOTE Only one film may be entered in the competition for each film maker. Materials supplied by film makers to NociCortinfestival will be published only for purposes of promoting the festival. DVDs and VHS tapes will not be returned to the film maker. Nocicinema will not use films and other materials submitted by participants without the express permission of the film maker. Films which are selected for screening at the festival must be sent in digital master format (35mm, Blu Ray, DVD - HD 720p, DVCAM, DV) no later than three weeks before the date of the festival. Other formats (such as VHS) will be accepted only in the first selection phase. GENERAL INFORMATION Short films will be selected by the Board of Organizers of the Festival. The Authors of the selected films will be invited to join the Festival in Noci; board and lodging will be provided, travel expenses will not be included. Every Author is the only responsible for the content of his films. The information on the enclosed application form will be published on the Festival official catalogue and web site The Festival organizational board can change or add prizes at any time. There is no fee for the enrolment in NociCortinfestival. The Board of Organizers will inform the Authors of the selected films. Films not selected for the Festival will become part of the NociCortinfestival archives. They may be used in retrospective exhibitions and other film shows that will be carried out in the following months.

5 Winners agree to mention in the opening credits of their film both the name and the logo of NociCortinfestival together with the designated prize. Payment of prize money will be made no later than January 31th,. Participation in the NociCortinfestival implies the acceptance of the festival rules and regulations. Any violation of the rules and regulations will result in participation in the Festival. Should the number of works be considered not substantial, the Board of Organizers of the Festival reserve the right to annul the festival, informing in due time the participants. The Board of Organizers may take decisions regarding unforeseen circumstances not considered by the above rules and regulations. DEADLINE The short films must be sent before July 1 th,. 9 Conditions of participation - The author, the production, or the entitled agree to deposit to the NociCinema archives a VHS copy (PAL) of the short film. - The Festival Organizers reserve the right to use segments of selected films (3 minutes max.) to advertise the event. - All short films received will be part of the NociCortinfestival archives. Both selected films and non-selected films may be used in retrospective exhibitions and film shows in the following months. - Winners agree to mention both the name and logo of NociCortinfestival and the prize won in the opening credits of their films. Participation in the Festival is dependent upon acceptance of these regulations. Any breach of regulations will preclude participation in the Festival. Should the number of films submitted to the festival be considered insufficient, the organizers may decide to annul the festival, informing in due time the participants. The undersigned, according to the law 675/96, declares to be completely informed of the terms and conditions of the use of their personal data as indicated in the application form and authorize the registration of such data into the NociCortinfestival data base. The undersigner declares to have the legal ownership of proprietary rights of the film submitted to the festival, according to the law 633/1941.
