1 UNIFORM REGULATIONS SENIOR SCHOOL (S1 to S6) 1. Standards relating to dress and appearance are determined by the Headmaster. 2. Pupils must wear the full, correct school uniform. They must always be neat and tidy in appearance. Pupils must remember that they represent the School when travelling to and from the School and at all other times when wearing our uniform. 3. All items of clothing, books and personal belongings should be clearly marked with the owner s name and class. 4. Items marked with an asterisk * must be obtained from the School suppliers. It is not allowed on June Day, Prizegiving or other formal occasions which may be specified by the School. Open Neck Blouse* Short-sleeved white Trutex/Banner A minimal amount of jewellery and make up is allowed according to the gender and age of the pupils. The definition of minimal jewellery is as follows: one plain stud in the lobe of each ear (girls only); anything worn round the neck should not be visible; one piece of jewellery on the wrist and one ring. Coloured nail products may not be worn. Pupils should be minimal in their use of hair colour, style and styling products. Pupils should be moderate in their choice of hair length. Use of colour, styling and styling products should be minimal. 4 GIRLS ESSENTIAL ITEMS PHYSICAL EDUCATION UNIFORM SENIOR SCHOOL S1-S6 Heriot s polo shirt* (PE is not compulsory Heriot s skort* or in S6) Heriot s PE shorts* Plain white ankle socks Gym or training shoes (not boots) One piece swimsuit in any colour Heriot s fleece-lined jacket* or Heriot s Playerlayer rainjacket* Heriots Playerlayer Tracksuit bottoms are also available GIRLS ESSENTIAL ITEMS GAMES UNIFORM SENIOR SCHOOL Athletics Badminton/Tennis Cross Country Running Hockey Badminton/Tennis Racket [Pupils participating in inter-school matches and in the Cross Country Club must wear Heriot s athletics singlet*] Heriot s reversible top* Heriot s skort* Navy knee-length socks* Sports tights of one colour, black or blue, can be worn Hockey Footwear: S1 to S6 girls may be faced with either the artificial or grass pitches during both midweek practices and Saturday games. Astro shoes are the best footwear for artificial surfaces but training shoes can cope. On grass, however, the best footwear is a studded boot but astro shoes are acceptable. Studded boots should have either a moulded sole or plastic screw in studs please note that metal studs are not permitted on a hockey pitch. Girls tend to wear football boots as their "studded" footwear. Training shoes are unsafe on grass, particularly when it is wet. It is strongly recommended that shin pads and mouth guards should always be worn. [Pupils also require a towel and a change of underwear/socks] Hockey Stick: Girls new to the School may borrow a hockey stick from the PE Department until the October mid-term break. Pupils continuing this activity are required to purchase their own hockey stick. Rowing [Pupils participating in regattas must wear Heriot s athletics singlet*] - 4 -

5 N.B. Any body armour/base layer (shorts or short/long sleeved tops) must be navy blue.
