3 Online doesn t mean alone From the admissions process to the online classes, you will be supported along the way in the Utica College Accelerated Second Bachelor s Degree Nursing Program. Here are just a few ways you will be supported throughout the nursing school process: Admissions Process The accelerated nursing program offers one-onone advising throughout the admission process. This advising starts before you even enter the program. The advisors at Utica will help you create a personalized academic plan based on your background and goals. It will include your target start date and all the information you need to achieve that start date. The Classroom You won t be alone after enrolling in the program. When you start in the program you will be assigned to a cohort. This cohort will be a group of the same students that you will take classes with over the next 16 months. You will be encouraged to network and study with this group of students. Complete readings and assignments online at your convenience, but visit campus often to take proctored exams, complete lab work, and meet with others in your cohort. You will also complete your hands-on clinical education at premier healthcare facilities in the Tampa Bay area. After Graduation You will interact with many healthcare professionals during your time at Utica College. Upon graduation, you will have worked at hospitals and healthcare facilities and met other nurses, doctors, and technicians. You will also have your cohort and professors to serve as a professional network that you can continue to go to for support. Page 3

Here are just a few highlights of the area: It s sunny and pleasant year round in St. Petersburg We mean really sunny. This city is actually nicknamed The Sunshine City. At one point, St. Petersburg had 768 consecutive days of sunshine, which put it in the Guinness World Record for the most days of sunshine. The city has character From the food trucks to the local art, there are lots of little niches in this city to keep you entertained. You can start your day by exploring the extreme architecture of the Salvador Dali Museum, continue on to one of the many sporting events held in the city, and end it at one of the many craft beer shops in the area. This area offers a wide array of things to do and places to see. St. Petersburg is home to one of the best beaches in Florida Time and time again the Fort DeSoto Park Beach is ranked one of the best in the nation. The beach includes five islands lined with beautiful white sand and consists of over 110 acres. You can do anything at this beach, from swimming, to shelling, to camping and kayaking, to just watching a stunning sunset. Page 5
