1 THE ENGLISH AND FOREIGN LANGUAGES UNIVERSITY HYDERABAD No. EFLU/SC-ST Cell/2015/ 15 th July 2015 NOTICE The English and Foreign Languages University grants Merit-cum-Means Fellowship, Exemption of Tuition Fee and Book Allowance for the academic year to eligible students as per University Rules under Regulation 20 Student Welfare Fund. Application form and Procedure, eligibility criteria and mode of payment are given at the end of this notice. Students are required to read the Eligibility criteria (excerpt from Regulation 20) also given below, carefully and then fill the application form. I. Students who are admitted into the first semester of the courses at the University should enclose the following documents for consideration: 1. 50% marks or an equivalent grade in their qualifying examination such as BA, MA, M.Ed., PGDTE, B.Ed. etc. and 60% of the highest score in the entrance tests conducted by the University. 2. Latest Income certificate of parents from a competent authority/mro/rdo/tahsildar 3. Caste Certificate in case of SC/ST/OBC and PVC from a competent authority/ MRO/ RDO/ Tahsildar 4. Aadhar Card 5. ID card 6. Residential certificate in case of hostelite 7. A Bonafide Certificate from the concerned Department for a hostelite and day scholar II. Students who are promoted to third/fifth semester of the courses at the University should enclose the following documents for consideration: 1. Secured 50% marks and have fulfilled the attendance requirement, are eligible for the award of EFLU Merit-cum-Means Fellowship 2. Previous semester Grade Card 3. Latest Income certificate of parents from a competent authority/ MRO/ RDO/ Tahsildar 4. Caste Certificate in case of SC/ST/OBC and PVC from a competent authority/ MRO/ RDO/ Tahsildar 5. Aadhar Card 6. ID card 7. Residential certificate in case of hostelite 8. A Bonafide Certificate from the concerned Department for a hostelite and day scholar Further, the students should submit all the relevant documents mentioned at page no.3 of application form. The copies of the certificates should be attested by a Gazetted officer. The filled-in application forms with relevant documents will have to be submitted on the day of joining during the Orientation Programme. A counter for this purpose will be set up to collect the application forms.

3 Eligibility criteria REGULATION-20: STUDENT WELFARE FUND A. Merit-cum-Means Fellowship, Exemption of Tuition Fee and Book Allowance for the academic year Eligibility a) All fulltime, Indian students, registered for any Programme, except Ph.D., with less than 1,50,000 income of parents are eligible to apply for EFLU Merit-cum-Means Fellow- ship and Exemption from Fee. Students who receive Fellowship shall be granted Book Grant up to Rs. 1000/- per annum, each year studentship. Students belonging to reserved categories exempted from paying tuition fees under GOI rules shall g the Book Grant of Rs. 1000/- per annum for each year of valid studentship. All Other deposits and fees as mentioned in the Prospectus and Hostel room rent as per rules shall hav paid by all students. b) All SC/ST/OBC and physically / visually Challenged students registered for any Programme, excep are eligible to apply for Scholarship and Exemption from Tuition Fee (if not exempted under GOI However, they also have to pay all other fees as prescribed by the EFL University from time to t mentioned in the Prospectus and Hostel room rent as per rules. c) No student of any category availing any other Scholarship/ Fellowship/ Financial help from any ag charitable organization is eligible to avail any financial assistance from the University. d) Students availing Scholarship/ Fellowship / Financial Assistance through Social Welfare depart State Govts./Ministry of Tribal Affairs/UGC and any other agency / organization of Rs. 1000/- or above not eligible to received the EFLU Merit-cum-Means fellowship. Where the amount is less than Rs. 100 month, the short fall will be paid to the student under EFLU Fellowship Assistance. e) Among newly admitted students, only those who obtained 50% marks or an equivalent grade i qualifying examination such as BA, MA, M.Ed., PGDTE, B.Ed., etc. and 60% of the highest score in the en tests conducted by the university annually are eligible to apply for Scholarship, exemption of tuition book allowance. Among students who are in the second and the following semesters, only those who have been promot not have failed in two or more courses), secured 50% marks, and fulfilled the attendance requireme eligible for EFLU Merit-cum-Means Fellowship, exemption of tuition fee and book allowance or any oth of financial assistance. Procedure for Application Form

4 Applications should be made in the prescribed format given below and addressed to the Chairperson Grants Committee. All Applications should be submitted through the Head of the Department in case of students not residing campus, and through the Provost if they are residents in the hostels, within one month from their admissio All relevant documents such as Caste Certificate, Income Certificate etc., must be submitted along w application form. a. Mode of Payment of Scholarship b. a. Scholarship of Rs. 1000/- per month for eligible students will be paid twice in a year during December and June after the results of the respective semesters are out. b. Release of EFLU Fellowship, book grant etc. are subject to deductions of the amount on mess bills, damage caused to the University property, books lost or damaged and any other dues pending against a student. c. Students receiving any grant or scholar-ship from any other source will have to declare the s writing. Concealment of information or submission of false information shall lead to withdrawa concessions and scholarship. It may also lead to disciplinary action against the defaulter including ex from the academic Programmes of the university. Guidelines and Modalities for Distribution of Resources per Annum Students Welfare Fund: 25% A Merit-cum-Means Fellowship, Exemption of Tuition Fee and Book Allowance Eligibility a.
