2 Third Review of Action Plans Review of activities scheduled for completion between January and March, 2015 Action Plans updated with status column Goal 1 Learning and Achievement MPE staffing autonomies granted for nine campuses Instructional model implementation Phase II will focus on integration of the model into the planning cycle with districtwide implementation in Implementation of priority curriculum audit recommendations Process for curriculum review includes embedded quality indicators, key instructional strategies, and integration of technology Academic priorities identified, developed plan for Summer Institute Implemented new budget development process that identified 4 priorities for including n n n Quality Tier 1 instruction College and career readiness Inclusive education n Programming related to bond initiatives 2

3 Goal 2 Higher Education/Career All courses identified for HB5 endorsements and for CTE Center Agreements in process for dual credit MOU work continues for instrument repair program; potential industry certification UTA STEM Academy planning on schedule; student interviews scheduled for April GM and district partnered to form a STEM committee that includes elementary, secondary, community, business and non profit members STEM week identified as April 27-May 1 Goal 4 World Class Facilities Bond projects Educational specs for fine arts/dual language academy and CTE Center 3 project managers and MAPPS data specialist hired Dual Language instructional model of 2 teacher, 50/50 model selected Energy Management staff developed design criteria for mechanical controls that will be installed through the bond program HR held campus meetings with staff on junior high consolidation Plans developed for district custodial function and maintenance based on consultant reports Maintenance staff training focused on leadership development with 3 sessions completed and 4 in next quarter Campus deficiencies, not included in bond, identified using MAPPS database; to be addressed in current budget or budget 3

4 Goal 5 Safe and Secure Environment PBIS staff conducting FIDELITY WALKS with principals and staff to review levels of implementation Summer Institute training planned to include sessions on implementing PBIS in the classroom (Tier 1) Goal 10 Highly Effective Teachers Academic Services staff received training on adult learning and active engagement, and in designing/planning effective professional learning Discussions initiated on role of instructional coaches to support implementation of district and campus initiatives Initial Professional Learning Plan designed that includes framework, designations, and pathways Comprehensive Inclusive Education training focused on LRE was identified as a training need for teachers and staff; sessions to be held from February through May and included in Summer Institute 4

6 Effective Leadership Goal 9 Leadership Development Emerging Leaders program recruiting for with two information sessions conducted New Leadership Performance Improvement (LPI) program being implemented for selected AISD leaders in 8 schools for Academic Services staff and instructional coaches received training and development Studer provided two sessions for departmental staff and new principals on district scorecard Engaged Community Goal 6 and 7 Parent and Community Engagement Established Arlington ISD Back to School Kick off Committee with AISD, Dallas Cowboys, NAACP of Arlington, Junior League of Arlington, Fielder Church and Salvation Army YET Center Parent University January 31, 2015 at Martin HS Network focused on College and Career Readiness 33 organizations presented for the college fair Attendance was 181 parents, 63 students, 47 children in childcare Final Parent University scheduled for May 2 with a focus on Summer Program Opportunities Joint meeting of Family and Community Engagement committees focused on Action Plan update, Parent University, and Communication Met with independent group formed to provide resources and support to other parents; Madres Ayundando Madres 6
