1 101 Appendix 2 Inter-Rater Reliability Analysis Reliability coefficient is the scale that represents the reliability of the test. It allows us to compare the reliability of different test. To get reliability coefficient the researcher uses inter-rater reliability. It means that by using interrater reliability there will be two scores from one students descriptive writing. Here, the researcher is the first rater, and the researcher asked a friend to be rater 2. The researcher use scoring rubric to evaluate students descriptive writing. Then, the two score will be compared to know the reliability coefficient. The range of reliability coefficient is 0-1. The description of scoring rubric, students score, and SPSS calculation are presented below. A. Correlation is significant at the 0.01 level (2-tailed). The table is the result of calculation by using Pearson Product Moment formula. It shows that the value is The significance value is 2- tailed. According to Hughes (1989:40) the ideal reliability coefficient is 1. Where the result closed to 1, it means that the test is reliable. On the contrary, where the result of reliability coefficient is zero, it is not reliable. To sum up, based on the result of calculation gained in this research, the researcher conclude that the instrument is reliable because it has reliability coefficient 0.797
