The film festival is one of London s most celebrated short film festivals attracting over 1,000 filmmakers over the week and sponsored by brands such as: UKTV, Panasonic, Shutterstock, Western Digital and Peroni to name a few. About The Smalls: The Smalls is a video content marketplace that connects its community of 12,000+ independent filmmakers with brands and agencies looking to generate content via a digital platform. By combining advertising expertise and service with boundless creativity, The Smalls offers a streamlined, cost effective way to generate video content. The Smalls offering is rooted in quality and authenticity, born out of The Smalls Film Festival (since 2006).

2 To date The Smalls clients range from leading record labels to forward thinking brands that come to The Smalls to work with creative filmmakers from all over the world. The Smalls is located in Shoreditch (just off Brick Lane) and shares office space with one of UK s most successful tech start-ups, Unruly Media. About The Smalls Film Festival: The Smalls Film Festival started as a one day showcase back in The Smalls Co Founder Anna Granger came up with the concept to showcase small films on small screens (thus the name, The Smalls) back when the first video ipod had launched. Being a revolutionary concept for the time the event was well received and subsequently commissioned by Apple to do the same showcase in their flagship store on Regence Street. From this event The Festival has been celebrated every year partnering with the likes of MTV and Comedy Central who were interested early on in connecting with grass roots content creators. Today the festival is celebrated during the first week of September and is held over 5 days. The event is made up of master classes, panel discussions and screenings all used to champion the latest in

3 short filmmaking and to celebrate a years worth of content from our community. The Opportunity: The Smalls is currently recruiting a new film festival producer to head up the planning and implementation of the big event. The event runs over a 5-day period and is held the first week of September. The call for submissions/ the competition i.e. when filmmakers begin to enter their films into the festival runs from April July therefore ideally the candidate will begin early March. Current Markets: The film festival is a UK only event but entries and visitors come from all over the world. The Duties and Responsibilities include: - Plan, program and implement The Smalls Film Festival Manage the call for submissions from The Smalls community and beyond - Organise and manage all design assets associated with the event. A designer will be provided

4 - Program events and creative themes, with the support of The Smalls. This includes suggesting possible talent to feature on panels and masterclasses. - Employment and management of The Smalls festival crew and volunteers - Design and implementation of a marketing strategy for the lead up to, during and post the event - Sponsorship communicate with sponsors on progress of the event and sponsorship implementation This list is not exhaustive and you may be requested to undertake other duties. The ideal candidate will have: - 2 years minimum experience working in events - An interest in film, creative industries and the media industry in general - Excellent written and oral communication skills - Confident managing a team of people - Confidence working with suppliers with a positive collaborative approach - Calm, yet assertive, you approach problems with a solutionorientated attitude
