1 GYMNASTICS CLUB MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION BUSINESS UNIT SPORT BUSINESS REPORTS TO President Wanganui Boys & Girls Gym Club LOCATION Wanganui Boys and Girls Gym Club HOURS OF WORK Part Time (15-20 hours) Monday ~ Friday (9am to 7pm) This position requires flexible working hours KEY INTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS Committee Sports Director Administration Manager Sport Wanganui Staff/Volunteers/Members KEY EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS Schools/Preschools/Kohanga Reo s Regional stakeholders, sponsors and partners National, and regional funding organisations

2 ABOUT WANGANUI BOYS AND GIRLS GYM CLUB The Wanganui Boys & Girls Gym Club is a non profit charitable organisation, established in Today we have over 450 regular gymnast members who use the club more than twice a week and around 850 users each week. We are affiliated to GymSports New Zealand along with almost two hundred other gymnastics clubs in the North and South Islands of New Zealand. We provide gymnastics sessions not only for the super talented kids of Wanganui and beyond, but for everyone who wants to have a go. Some of the classes we run are:- Recreational Artistic Gymnastics Recreational Trampoline Tumbling Pre school from 18 months Schools & Early childhood Women's Artistic Competitive Men's Artistic Competitive Sports Aerobics (competitive) Trampoline (competitive) Incentive Awards Autism NZ class In line with Gym Sports NZ we are now providing for four out of five of the gym sports in New Zealand, we aim to provide a class for each individual's talents maintaining a safe and happy environment for each person to challenge themselves, and we always strive to improve! We have a team of dedicated staff, coaches, and volunteers who make the club a great place to be whether it be during the week in our sessions or at one of our annual events or competitions The Club also has Sports Accommodation attached to our main facility which has been home to many sports teams and visitors to Wanganui. We hold birthday parties each weekend and our Sports Holiday program for 5 to 13 years runs through each school holiday - we really do have something for everyone here at our club. Vision: To enrich young lives through quality gymnastics delivery, enhancing movement skills, personal development and athletic ability Direction and focus for the club: To grow the club sustainably by developing people and systems that will provide a legacy for both the club and Wanganui

3 PURPOSE OF ROLE Wanganui Boys and Girls Gym Club Executive Committee require an action-orientated, experienced and multi skilled Manager to oversee and ensure the effective running and growth of the Wanganui Boys & Girls Gym Club and Sports Accommodation. A 'finisher', this person will be critical to the development of WBGGC as Wanganui s Gymnastics hub. You will be committed to service delivery, great communication and capable of developing and leading a small delivery team in collaboration with Wanganui s Gymnastics community and its stakeholders. KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY CLUB MANAGER Club Operations Human resources/staffing Policies & Procedures Funding/Fundraising Annual Magazine/Reporting Finance Asset management Marketing and Promotion Programme Development Events & Project Management Strategic Direction/Planning & Implementation Contractual Obligations

4 KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES The overall tasks, responsibilities and outcomes for the WBGGC Club manager s position is outlined below. Specific KPI s related to each of these will be developed and agreed with the WBGGC Committee. KEY TASKS RESPONSIBILITIES OUTCOMES KPI s Club Operations & Contractual Obligations Provide a safe & well maintained facility through compliance with contractual requirements & industry standards. The community is assured that the approved and recognized National Standards are met. Human resources / Staffing Management of all aspects of staff resources, including performance reviews, contract negotiations, recruitment & provide professional development opportunities. All staff have current job descriptions, contracts and personal development plans. All staff receive performance reviews on an annual basis. Ensure appropriate training and development of staff occurs. Finance Prepare and operate a financial budget for the delivery of the WBGGC Annual Plan. Annual budget prepared and signed off by Committee Meet monthly with Sport Wanganui Operations Manager to track financial situation. Asset management Implement and monitor an effective programme of preventative maintenance of WBGGC assets Operational Maintenance plan is in place and Maintenance team are working off the plan. Quarterly review of plan with Facility Committee

5 Planning and Strategic Direction Develop and implement an Annual Business Plan including Schools and Programme Groups All delivery is aligned with the plan. Marketing and promotion Develop an Annual Marketing Plan. Oversee all marketing, sponsorship and events activities. Annual Marketing Plan in place. Ensure existing partnerships/sponsorships are maintained. Actively seek new sponsorships Programme Implementation Oversee the development & implementation of a comprehensive range of innovative gymnastics programmes that meet the requirements of the community. A range of innovative programmes are offered to the community (as per Marketing Plan). Event & project management Develop & oversee a range of events and projects as outlined in the WBGGC Marketing Plan. Lead all events and projects as identified in Marketing Plan. Minimum of 4 events and 2 projects implemented annually. Professional development Attend national and regional conferences, courses and educational workshops, as negotiated and agreed as part of personal development plan. Relevant national and regional conferences, courses and educational workshops have been attended as per personal development plan and reports submitted to Committee.
