1 Mail Direction Search Report The Mail Direction Search Report is used to search for default drop entry points and redirections. This report allows users to search based on several different data elements including mail characteristics, discount level, and destination ZIP Code. The Mail Direction Search Report is available through the Facility Access and Shipment Tracking (FAST) system. The Mail Direction Search Report is accessible to users both pre- and post-login. To access it, click the Reports link located on the navigation menu of the FAST Landing page or the Reports Go> button located in the main window. From the Reports Landing page select the Mail Direction Search link, or associated Go> button. From the Mail Direction Search Criteria page, use the drop-down menu to choose one of the following viewing options: 1) Drop Entry Point View displays results for drop entry points only 2) Default and Redirections View displays results for both default drop entry points and redirections 3) Label List View displays results for both default drop entry points and redirections by specific label or label list Click the Create button to display the Mail Direction Search page that is associated to the selected report view. In order to determine what information and categories will be generated in the Mail Direction Search Report, input the appropriate search criteria into the fields. Users should note that search criteria will depend on the report view that was selected. The following sections describe the fields and buttons that are associated to each report view for the Mail Direction Search page. To view facility details and additional information, click on the Facility link generated in the Mail Direction Search Report. The Facility Profile page displays contact information, drop ship hours and hours of operation, and processing responsibilities. By noting the NASS Code of the facility you can quickly and easily schedule an appointment in FAST.
2 Drop Entry Point View A. Modified - Drop-down box containing date range options in which the default entry point or the redirection was last modified B. Effective Date Range - Drop-down box containing date range options in which the redirection is effective or in grace period C. Content Zip Code - Textbox to input the Content ZIP Code D. Discount Type - Multipleselect box containing the different discount types, allowing the user to choose one or more discount types to display on the report E. Mail Class - Multiple-select box containing the different mail classes, allowing the user to choose one or more classes to display on the report F. Mail Shape - Multiple-select box containing the different mail shapes, allowing the user to choose one or more shapes to display on the report G. Palletized - Drop-down box allowing user to search for drop entry points based on palletized, non-palletized or both palletized and non-palletized mail H. Show Address - Checkbox to choose if the address for the Drop Entry Point Facility will be shown on the report. I. Show Facility ZIP/CRID Ranges - Checkbox to choose if the ZIP Codes and Carrier Route IDs (CRIDs) will be grouped for display or will be listed on individual lines J. Search Button - Retrieves the mail direction data for the entered criteria and displays the Mail Direction Search Report K. Facility Link - Link to Facility Profile page

Show Redirect Address - Checkbox to choose if the address for the Redirect Facility will be shown on the report N. Show Results For Dropdown box allowing the user to choose to display only default drop entry points, only redirections, or both O. Show Truck Length Redirections Only Checkbox to choose if only redirections where truck length is specified will be shown on the report

Submit Button Populates the label drop-down box according to the label list selected by the user R. Label - Drop-down box allowing the user to choose a label that will display on the report
5 Mail Direction File and Mail Direction File v2 The Mail Direction File provides information to mailers who deliver their presorted Periodicals, Standard Mail, and Package Services mailings to Bulk Mail Centers (BMCs), Sectional Center Facilities (SCFs), Area Distribution Centers (ADCs), or Destination Delivery Units (DDUs). The Mail Direction File generates default drop entry point and redirection data that can be used to populate a mailer s unique supply chain software and create reports. Accessing the Mail Direction File allows the user to link multiple files to create unique reports and perform a more detailed comparison of the data. Currently, there are two versions of the Mail Direction File; Mail Direction File and Mail Direction File v2. The Mail Direction File includes the concept of Default and Redirect Drop Entry Points. Default Drop Entry Point records represent a single point for dropping all Destination Discount Mail for a particular ZIP, CRID, and Discount. Redirect Drop Entry Point records represent an Alternative Drop Entry Point for a specific CIN Group (Mail Class/Mail Shape and Perishable/News Indicators), Pallet Code (Palletized, Non-Palletized), and Date Range. The Mail Direction File includes all current and future Redirect Drop Entry Points. Only current Default Drop Entry Points are displayed. The Mail Direction File v2 includes a number of enhancements over the original Mail Direction File. The file structure includes the ability to determine drop entry points restricted to specific truck lengths, ties the label list and label of the drop entry point, and eliminates the concept of default and redirections. The file simply lists all drop entry points by ZIP, Discount, Mail Class, Mail Shape, Pallet/Non-Pallet and Effective Dates. The Mail Direction Files are accessible to users both pre- and post-login. To access them, go to click the Resources link located on the navigation menu of the FAST Landing page. From the Resources Landing page select the Drop Ship Product File Download link, or associated Go> button to display the Drop Ship Product File Download page. Select the Mail Direction File or Mail Direction File v2 Download> button to access the appropriate Mail Direction File and save it. To download the entire Drop Ship Product including the LAYOUT file which describes the fields in each file, select the All Files Download> button.
