This is a simple and easy way to customize and control various types of LED lighting. The versatility of this product makes it the perfect choice for a wide range of applications. Furthermore, this 3-in-1 controller outputs its own WiFi network, so it can be used anywhere and is not dependent on the availability of external WiFi networks. The iphone and Android apps allow you to create and store your favorite color sequences and modes. Choose whether to fade or step through the color cycle, and adjust the speed and brightness to your liking. Custom colors can also be displayed in real time by simply touching the color wheel. The receiver is rated at 3 amps per channel which is 108 watts per receiver at 12 volts or 216 watts per receiver at 24 volts. Our regular density RGB LED strip uses up to 30 watts per 5 meter reel and the double density RGB LED strip uses up to 50 watts per 5 meter reel. 4 WiFi App Installation This product outputs a wifi network that creates a link between your iphone/ipad/android and the receiver. To control your lights you must be connected to the supported wifi network on your smartphone. When using the app, make sure that you are always connected to the wifi network WIFI-101- SSID-X, where X is the SSID value selected on the back of the controller. For more information on the SSID value, see the Basic Setup section below. 5 Operation Basic Setup There are three indicator lights on the back of the 3-in-1 LED WiFi Controller, as shown. RUN gives the status of the controller. If this light is flashing rapidly it indicates that the controller is initializing. This usually occurs after power has been supplied to the controller or the SSID code has been changed. During normal function the RUN light will flash each second. LINK stays lit up when a smart phone or device is connected to the controller. When this light is off it indicates that there is no connection. RX/TX indicates that the controller is either receiving or transmitting data. When not transmitting, it is turned off. The SSID dial allows you to select a value from 0 to F. When you connect to the wifi network you will connect to WIFI-101-SSID-X, where X is the value you chose. By setting multiple 3-in- 1 LED Wifi Controllers to different SSID settings you can create multiple zones that are independently controlled by changing the wifi network your phone or device is connected to. You can only control one 3-in-1 LED Wifi Controller at a time. Do not set multiple 3-in-1 LED Wifi Controllers to the same SSID this will result in communication errors. The ON/OFF button allows you to turn the controller on or off. The SCENE button allows you to cycle through the scenes you have saved, without using a smartphone or other device. It will automatically use the scenes of the function last accessed using your smartphone or device. Therefore, if the last remote control function you used was RGB, the SCENE button will remember the RGB scenes you have saved. The saving of scenes allows you to use your 3-in-1 LED Wifi Controller as a stand-alone device. Note that the RJ45 port (labeled EXT KEY) is not used. 6 Selecting a Function: Wifi 102 App On any page within the app, press the tool icon in the lower right hand corner. This will bring you to be page seen at left. You can then select between the RGB, CT (color tunable), and Dim drivers. WiFi 102 App: RGB Function The RGB function has four interfaces, depending on how you prefer to control your lights: Color Wheel, Scene, Mode, and DIY. The Color Wheel allows you to select any point on a color wheel, and the lights will turn that static color. Brightness selection is at the top, as well as a readout of the current red, green and blue levels. The power button allows you to turn the strip on and off. At the bottom right is a button that will take you to an interface where you can individually adjust red, green, and blue levels. When you select Save, at the top left, you will be taken to the scene menu. Select any of the nine scenes to save your color to, then press OK. You can give the scene any name, and access it later by simply selecting that icon. The Scene menu allows you to select any scene that you have previously saved. Here you can store your favorite settings. In the same manner as saving solid colors from the Color Wheel and Editor menus, you can also save modes from the Style menu. The Mode menu presents you with a scrolling list of 32 pre-set modes (M1-M32, listed above), and slider bars to adjust speed and brightness. Within the DIY interface, modes can be created or edited by selecting D1-D8 as well as a mode, brightness level, and speed. You will see 10 squares below the color wheel. Select any color on the color wheel, and then press which slots you would like it to fill. Continue adding colors until all the squares are filled. 7 WiFi 102 App : Color Tunable (CT) Function Within the Color Tunable interface you can select the color of white you want on the wheel. The readout at the top of the menu indicates the level of neutral white (W) and warm white (WW). The White button at the bottom right automatically sets your lights to fully neutral white. The power button at the top left turns your lights on and off, and the slider at the top middle controls the level of brightness. By pressing the Save button at the bottom left, you can save your current color to access later. You will be prompted to select one of the three scene buttons at the bottom of the screen. WiFi 102 App: Dim Function Within the Dim interface you can select the brightness level you want with the wheel or slider. The readout at the top of the menu indicates the level of brightness. 8 Wiring Begin by installing the antenna to the 3-in-1 LED Wifi Controller. Simply turn it clockwise until it is securely in place and pointing upwards. The wiring will depend on whether you plan to use the 3-in-1-led-wifi for RGB, color tunable, or monochrome strip. For all types, the two channels at the far left of the block will be used for power input. This input should be either 12 or 24 VDC, depending on the requirements of the LED strip you are powering. The icon below (printed above the connection block on the 3-in-1 LED WiFi Controller) explains which wires go where in each function. See the next page for more detailed diagrams. 9 For RGB control, connect red to R, green to G, and blue to B. The live wire connects to the V+ node. For color tunable control, connect cool or neutral white to W and warm white to WW. No wire connects to NC. The live wire connects to V+. For dimming control, you can connect up to three monochrome strips to be controlled together. 10 Instructions Please take the following precautions: 1. This equipment, like all electrical equipment, should be installed by a qualified person. 2. Do not expose these LEDs, dimmers or power supplies to intense electro-magnetic fields, including lightning. 3. The controllers and power supplies are not waterproof. Keep them dry. 4. Install in a well-ventilated area to prevent over-heating. 5. Always observe proper polarity. When installing LED lighting, it is a good idea to follow this dry-run procedure: 1. Be sure you have everything you need before you start. 2. Lay out your lights and power supply on the floor or table. 3. There is some resistance in the LED lighting. If you see any color fading or dimming at the end of a long run, you may have too many LEDs for your power supply and you might need a bigger supply or shorter runs. Use a bus structure as described in rgb_manual.pdf. Call if you need assistance with larger projects. 4. Connect everything and test it to be sure it works and you have it connected properly. It is unlikely, but possible, that some part of your system is defective or was damaged during shipment. If that is the case, it will be very helpful to you to know that before you do all the work involved in installing custom LED lighting systems. You will also know if you damage anything during installation, which is really helpful in trouble-shooting because manufacturing defects and installation damage typically have very different solutions. Once you have tested the system successfully, you are ready to install it. We recommend you install LEDs, electronic controls and dimmers in such a way that you have access to them in case they fail.
