1 In order to enjoy the full, long-lasting benefit of your flooring and to ensure perfect installation, we advise that careful attention is paid to the recommendations given below. RECOMMENDATIONS FOR INSTALLATION USAGE USE Floor covering exclusively for interior residential use. Floor in a box is not suitable for bathrooms. ACCLIMATISING TO THE ROOM Store the boxes in the room for at least 24hrs before fitting. INSTALLATION TEMPERATURE The ideal installation temperature is 20 C, but sho uld be within the range of 15 C to 28 C. This product is compatible with underfloor heating systems, which should have been operating for at least 4 weeks before fitting Floor in a box. Maximum floor temperature: 28 C. SUGGESTIONS OF FLOOR IN A BOX DESIGNS Below are a few suggestions for fitting that may help to enhance the appearance of your room.

2 PREPARATION Recommended equipment: ruler, cutter, spatula (22 cm minimum) Before installation, the surface beneath must be clean, hard, smooth, dry and free of cracks Clean the sub floor with a neutral detergent and remove dust and all residue of grease, wax, plaster,glue, paint, etc. Equipment Sub floor surface hard, smooth, dry and free of cracks INSTALLATION ON NEW SUB FLOORS AND FINISHED FLOORS Concrete screed / finished floors - Floor in a box may be laid directly onto smooth concrete screed and finished floors.! If the concrete screed is uneven, it must be levelled off. If the levelling is uneven, it is strongly advised to apply a further levelling coat. - It is essential to use an adhesive primer coat in order to improve the adhesion of Floor in a box. INSTALLATION ON EXISTING SUB FLOOR Plastic / linoleum coverings - Floor in a box may be laid directly onto compact and hard plastic coverings as well as onto linoleum.! Floor in a box is not recommended for installation on very flexible plastic coverings. Textile coverings! Floor in a box is incompatible with carpet and other textile coverings These must be removed before installation. Parquet and laminate flooring: glued down and floating. Floor in a box may be laid directly on laminate or parquet flooring either that has been glued down or that is floating, where there are no joints and the strips are not loose; any loose strips must be secured. Floor in a box may also be installed on parquet flooring after sanding and vacuuming, instead of the initial application of an adhesive primary coat. Oiled parquet flooring must be sanded down beforehand. Tiled flooring - Floor in a box may be laid on smooth tiling with no joints or loose tiles.

3 Any loose tiles must be secured. - Floor in a box may be laid on tiling with mortared joints only after finishing or levelling the flooring with a levelling coat. It is essential to use an initial adhesive primer coat in order to improve the adhesion of Floor in a box. INSTALLATION Attention: please read carefully! Relocatable glue Floor in a box may be repositioned up to one hour after removing the protective covering. If the element has been incorrectly positioned, if the joints do not meet or in the case of any other problem, lift the strip up, reposition it correctly and press firmly to stick down again.! Alternating strips during installation In order to guarantee a perfect visual effect, the strips should be laid alternately. Lay a strip from box 1, followed by a strip from box 2, then a strip from box 3, etc. until all the boxes have been started, at which point, repeat the procedure using another strip from box 1. Check that the structure of the pattern is different between 2 adjacent strips. LAYING THE FLOOR IN A BOX STRIPS 1. If the wall is perfectly straight or if a skirting board is to be used, it is not necessary to draw any lines on the floor. If the wall is not straight, draw a pencil line at right angles to the adjacent wall. If you would like to create a particular design (see chapter, DESIGN SUGGESTIONS), draw a straight line in the direction that will enable this effect to be created, for example, a diagonal line.! The line must always be absolutely straight. 2. Use the winder to unroll the product 3. Place the beginning of the roll against the wall or along the drawn line 4. Peel off 50 cm of the protective sheet and stick the beginning of the strip against the wall. 5. Unroll the product, positioning it alongside the wall or the drawn line. 6. Remove the remaining protective paper and gradually lay out the product alongside the wall or the drawn line. 7. Cut the product using the special opening in the box. 8. When the whole of the strip is stuck down, cut off any excess using the spatula and cutter. 9. Take a different box, unroll 50 cm and check that the structure of the design is different from that of the first 50 cm of the first strip already laid. 10. Proceed with laying the second strip alongside the first strip, starting at point 2 above and ensuring that no gaps appear between strip 1 and strip 2. Smooth the joint with your thumb if it is not perfectly flat. If the strip has been positioned incorrectly, if the edges do not meet properly or if there is any other problem, peel off the strip, reposition it correctly and press to re-stick. The strips may be repositioned up to one hour after removing the protective backing. If happy with the appearance, continue laying the strips using a new box and checking that the adjacent strips do not have the same pattern structure.

4 When all the boxes have been started, continue laying the strips with the remaining rolls, checking the appearance systematically before sticking the strips. Avoid having two strips with the same pattern structure next to each other. If there is an insufficient length of strip remaining, continue with another strip, checking the appearance and following the procedure for connecting 2 strips. CONNECTION OF 2 FLOOR IN A BOX STRIPS 11. Place the unstuck strip over the one stuck down 12. Cut off the excess using the spatula and the cutter 13. Position the second strip, remove the protective backing, close and smooth the joint using your thumb; then continue the installation with the new strip. FINISHING & LAYING THE FLOOR IN A BOX STRIPS ALONGSIDE WALLS 14. Position the last 2 strips without sticking them down, lift the last strip (A) and slide it under the other strip (B). 15. Draw a line on the protective backing of strip A by following the edge of B. 16. Carefully cut A following the line and using the spatula and the cutter or scissors. 17. Remove the protective backing of the penultimate strip (B) and stick it down, ensuring there are no gaps. 18. For information, ask your Floor in a box distributor or search on Tarkoskirt FITTING OF TARKETT SKIRTING BOARD IS 60 : 1- Cut a 5cm wide strip of Floor in a Box using a ruler and cutter. 2- Remove the protective backing sheet from the strip. 3- Stick the Floor in a Box strip directly to the skirting board, securing it firmly at the top. FLOOR IN A BOX MAINTENANCE ADVICE To offer full protection to your Floor in a box flooring, please read the following maintenance instructions carefully: Weekly maintenance. Using a vacuum cleaner or damp floor cloth (water + non abrasive detergent). Do not soak the floor. Do not use polish or varnish. Do not use chlorinated solvents, soft soap, linseed oil-based products or acetone. Replace any rubber feet of furniture with plastic or felt feet. Treatment of resistant stains: - Alcohol, rubber, petrol, grease: rub with detergent and rinse - Paint, tar: rub with alcohol (eg. white spirit) and rinse - Tomato, mustard, ink, blood: use diluted bleach or white vinegar and rinse - Rust: clean with a rust removal product or oxalic acid and rinse

6 REPAIR / REPLACEMENT OF FLOOR IN A BOX If you wish to replace a damaged strip, cut out and remove the damaged section, replacing it with a new strip and checking that the pattern matches. If any strips become loose due to excess humidity in certain parts of the room, use Tarkospray glue or a similar glue to re-glue the strip after having eliminated the source of humidity and ensured that the damp section is completely dry. GUARANTEE Scope: All flooring from the Tarkett range for domestic use bearing specific labelling that includes Tarkett, is covered by this warranty. Duration of warranty: The duration of the warranty is variable in accordance with the products and may last 5, 10 or 15 years depending on construction, product profile and use recommended by Tarkett. The warranty comes into force on the date the product is purchased by the consumer, with the invoice made out by the distributor clearly showing the reference and guarantee level of the flooring product. Coverage: Only category 1 flooring installed in rooms for domestic use according to the rules of the trade and Tarkett recommendations (a note is attached to this document) is covered by this warranty. Tarkett protection covers: Obvious defects notified to Tarkett or to the distributor prior to installation, including: defects in appearance, structural defects, permanent stains, defects on the underside other than markings Manufacturing defects notified to Tarkett or to the distributor during the period under warranty, which cause abnormal changes to its behaviour during use Not covered by the Tarkett warranty: 1. Any products not sold as category 1 quality 2. Defects resulting from installation that does not follow the manufacturer s recommendations 3. Mistreated products put to another use other than domestic or stored in unsuitable conditions 4. Products damaged during transport for which Tarkett is not responsible or damaged in any other way outside Tarkett s responsibility 5. Products that have been cut or installed with obvious defects 6. Products that have not been properly maintained in accordance with Tarkett maintenance instructions and recommendations 7. Products that have had to be replaced because of deterioration caused by unsuitable underlay or sub floor

Products showing differences in colour, shine or marking between the product purchased and the illustrations or samples and, in the case of contract orders, differences in manufacture, including colour shades, between the different production batches 9. Damage caused by stains, burns, cuts, gouges, rub marks, scratches, accidental dents; discolouration caused by the underside of carpets, painted surfaces; yellowing caused by substances from outside (asphalt, tar, etc.) 10. Damage caused by stiletto heels and unprotected furniture feet 11. Defects and damage caused by circumstances beyond the control of Tarkett 12. Discolouration or damage caused by external sources, including water leaks, floods, heat and intense sunlight 13. In the case of areas of wear not treated with EXTREME or SUPREME, stains may be made by the rubber feet of furniture which can leave permanent marks; remove these rubber furniture feet or, failing that, place hard cups under the feet. Stains caused by the legs of waxed furniture can leave permanent marks; as a precaution, protect these areas using felt pads Claiming under warranty: Tarkett or the distributor must be notified of any fault as soon as it is discovered. If the products are being installed, installation must be stopped as soon as the fault is discovered The fault will be accepted after being inspected by a Tarkett representative or duly qualified agent. Tarkett reserves the right to request a representative sample of the fault for laboratory analysis. Conditions for compensation: For any fault found on a product under Tarkett warranty and meeting the criteria of the warranty coverage and application and, after acceptance of the case by the appropriate Tarkett departments, compensation will be granted. This compensation covers reimbursement of the purchase cost of the flooring excluding the costs of lifting, removal of fittings (partitions, furniture, etc.) and any material that may have been used for the installation (glue, skirting boards, etc.) and is broken down as follows: Period following purchase of faulty product: Rate of reimbursement of flooring: For a 15 year warranty 2 years 100% 4 years 80% 6 years 60% 10 years 40% 15 years 20% For a 10 year warranty 2 years 100% 4 years 75% 7 years 50% 10 years 20%

8 For a 5 year warranty 2 years 80% 3 years 60% 4 years 40% 5 years 20% Miscellaneous This warranty constitutes the sole warranty provided by Tarkett and Tarkett makes not other warranty, either express or implied, of any kind. This warranty supersede all prior discussions, negotiations, understandings and agreements between Tarkett and the distributor and / or the customer concerning the subject matter hereof. To the extent allowed by local law, Tarkett shall not be liable for loss of profits, direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or other damages under this warranty or from any cause whatsoever, whether based upon warranty, negligence, breach of contract, strict liability or any other legal theory. This warranty gives you specific rights and you may also have rights which may vary from country to country. To the extent that this warranty is inconsistent with a local law, this limited warranty shall be deemed modified to be consistent with such local law. Under such local law, certain disclaimers and limitations of this warranty may not apply to the customer. This limited warranty shall be construed and enforced in accordance with the laws of Luxembourg, without regard to conflicts of laws.
