Sessions may be cancelled if activity places are not filled. How we help you All equipment for sessions are provided. All sessions are led by qualified coaches and staff with enhanced DBS checks. How you can help us Please ensure children wear suitable clothing, footwear and bring plenty of drinks, snacks and lunch if required. Children attending sessions must be well-behaved so the enjoyment of others is not affected. A child who behaves in an unacceptable manner may be asked to leave an activity session. 3 4 ACTIVITY DESCRIPTIONS offers Multi-SportZone to keep children between the ages of entertained and active during the holiday periods. It aims to introduce children to sporting activities in a team environment and to develop and experience new skills while having fun. Sessions are structured as follows: Activities: 9.30am - 12pm Supervised lunch: 12pm - 1pm Activities: 1pm pm Half day 3.50 with an easeextra card or 5.30 without Full day 8 with an easeextra card or without Free Cycle Safety Training Bikeability cycle safety training is cycle proficiency for the 21st century! If you re thinking about getting on your bike, why not complete your cycle safety training? It s fun and gives you the skills and confidence to cycle in modern road conditions. Note: cyclists must attend BOTH Bikeability sessions to attain their level 2 cycle safety award, places allocated on a strictly first come first served basis. See page 11 for further information. Disability Archery/Archery Enjoy hitting the target with an arrow. Ran by a qualified instructor a session. Participants must be over 8 years old. Climbing Wall 10am-12pm (over 8 s) 7.50 with an easeextra card and 10 without. Must wear comfortable clothing. Hyper Mobile Laser Tag Challenge your friends in our giant inflatable area. Great for all ages (from 5 upwards) Family friendly fun an hour. Come along, have fun, keep active and learn new skills on the trampolines. Supervised by a qualified instructor. 5-7 year olds must be supervised by an adult. 5 a session with an easeextra card or 6.65 without. Enjoy activities like dodgeball, frisbee, rounders, football, assault course and basketball in the morning. Stay for a supervised lunch and then in the afternoon bring along your swim suit and have a splash about in the pool. Note: If its a nice day activities in the morning may take place outside. Swim wear required for the afternoon session. This session is supervised by a qualified coach. Full day 8 with an ease card or without Half day 3.50 with an easeextra card or 5.30 without. Burney Bear, Lakey Lion These clubs cater for kids aged. Parents can leave their children to participate in supervised sport and play activities. Children learn to enjoy activities as part of a team in a sporting environment while having FUN. Sessions are structured as follows: Activities: 10am 12pm Activities: 1pm - 3pm Half day 3.50 with an easeextra card or 5.30 without Full day 8 with an easeextra card or without Smash it up Badminton Children aged 4-15 years can learn new skills, play badminton games and have lots of fun. The session is supervised by a qualified badminton coach. Price 3.50 with an ease card or 5.30 without. Children aged 4-7 must be accompanied by an adult and a payment of 1.50 for the adult is required. Mr Twister Children can be entertained by Mr Twister during a magic show. Learn new magic tricks and how to make animal balloons. Children aged 4-12 years old can attend. Why not take part in our summer Swim and Save course running Week 5 of the school holidays. You will learn how to perform poolside based and water rescues along with personal water safety and CPR. You will do a daily 3 hour lesson starting off with a 2 hour water based session first hour rookie lesson second hour no limits fun and then 1 hour dry side based lesson covering CPR and first aid. You must be a confident swimmer and be able to swim at least 25meters. Pre booking is essential. Cost of the course is 25. 7 Sport North Tyneside DISABILITY SPORT The Inclusive Sport North Tyneside project launched in January and funded by Sport England, is a three year programme, which aims to increase participation of disabled people in sport. It offers opportunities to participants who are 14 years and over in North Tyneside and surrounding areas. The project focuses on athletics, archery, boccia, cycling, sailing, rebound/trampolining, swimming, StreetGolf and multi sport. Inclusive Sport North Tyneside delivers a variety of bespoke community based programmes, catering for a wide range of impairment needs across the borough. North Tyneside Libraries are inviting children across the borough to join in Mythical Maze Summer Reading Challenge 2014 from Saturday 5th July. Mythical Maze challenges children aged 4 to 11 to find their way around a labyrinth that introduces them to fantastical creatures from the world of legend and mythology. Children are encouraged to read six books during the summer holiday - just as long as they are borrowed free from the library. The Summer Reading Challenge, runs in partnership with the Reading Agency. This takes place every year during the summer holidays. Joining the Challenge is super easy. Sign up at your local library, then read six library books over the Summer. Each time you read a book you will collect stickers and other rewards along the way and it s all FREE. Everyone who completes the Challenge will be awarded a medal. There are loads of fun activities in libraries this summer: WW1 at the Lighthouse Learn what it was like to be a soldier in WW1.
