11 THE ROLE OF THE WILD BOAR All the studies performed so far in Europe (Spain and Sardinia) revealed that the wild boar by its own it is no able to mantain the disease without the re-infection from domestic/contaminated products (Laddomada et al., 1994; Manelli et al., 1997, 1998; Mur et al., 2012; Rolesu et al., 2007).

12 THE ROLE OF THE WILD BOAR However, the occurrence of the last cases in Lithuania and Poland (OIE, 2014) revealed that they could have an important role in spread, specially when their movement is favored. The risk of ASFV mantainance in areas of Europe with high density of wild boar has to be considered

22 CONTINGENCY PLAN EACH COUNTRY should have their own CONTINGENCY PLAN following EU and OIE rules, that: Clearly defines the persons/authorities involved, Details the actions to be taken in case of suspect/confirmation of the disease Should be clear and available for all the sectors implied prior to the entrance of the disease.
