TeleVox Solutions Website Powered by iapps - FAQs General Questions Q. How do I reset my password? A. Once logged into iapps, from your Dashboard navigate to Edit Profile and insert a new password in the Password and Confirm Password text boxes. If you forgot your password and cannot login to iapps, navigate to your iapps Admin login screen and select Forgot Password. Q. Where do I change my address, location or hours in iapps? A. Once logged into iapps, from your Dashboard navigate to My Account and from here you can change your address, location and hours. Hint, to change the hours, select the dropdown menu at the bottom of the My Account page. To add a new location, select Add Location. Q. How do I add a user to my website? A. Contact the Televox iapps Support team, they will be happy to add authorized users to your website. Q. I have a general question, what is the contact information for iapps Support? A. Go to the Televox iapps Support website at or call (866) or send an to support@iapps.com. Q. How do I change the background color or fonts on my website? A. Once logged into iapps, from your Dashboard navigate to My Account and from there you can change your website background colors and fonts to any of the professionally created, preapproved colors or fonts. The option to change both of these website elements are under the Theme Options section of the My Account page. Q. How can I add a link from my Homepage to my social media accounts? A. Once logged into iapps, from your Dashboard navigate to My Account and from here you can change which social media accounts appear on your website by navigating to the bottom of the My Accounts page and entering your social media URL next to the proper social media logo. Q. Which social media accounts can we display on our website? A. Currently, you can display links to the following social media outlets: Facebook, Google+, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Twitter, YouTube and one custom other. Q. How can I see what a page will look like on a mobile device? A. Once logged into iapps, navigate to the page you would like to view in the Site Editor mode. From there, navigate to the top of the page where you will see a black iapps Toolbar, on the Toolbar, select Manage Page Segments and then choose the device you would like to preview the page on. Q. Can I add mobile specific content to my website? A. Yes! Your website is built using responsive design so it is already mobile optimized. If you would like to add mobile specific content to any page, navigate to that page in the Site Editor mode, navigate to the top of the page where you will see a black iapps Toolbar, on the Toolbar, select Manage Page Segments and then choose the device you would like to edit the content for. 1
Q. Can I post YouTube videos on my website? A. Yes! Navigate to the page you would like to post the video on in Site Editor mode. From there, select the button on the page that says Create Content Definition and select Televox: YouTube Video. For those more web savvy, you can also edit it as an iframe in HTML mode in the editor. Q. Can I insert HTML into the iapps WYSIWYG editor? A. Yes! In the bottom left-hand corner of the WYSIWYG editor, select the icon to enter into HTML mode. Q. What is a WYSIWYG editor? A. The WYSIWYG editor is what lets you edit content in iapps with a very easy to use toolbar like below. WYSIWYG stands for What You See Is What You Get and it means you can modify content in a similar view the end-user would have when viewing the content. It is terrific for website administrators who want to see content and edit it just like website visitors would see that content. Q. I pressed the back button in the Browser and now I am logged out of iapps? A. That is possible. When using any Content Management System (CMS) it s always best practice not to use the browser s back button. Instead, navigate back using the intuitive iapps functionality. Q. Is there a recommended Browser you would suggest I use when editing my website in iapps? A. When editing your Televox Website Powered by iapps, it is suggested you use either Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome when logged into iapps. Both Internet Explorer and Safari will work if the recommended Browsers are not available on your computer. Images Q. Can I change the slider images on my Homepage? A. Absolutely! If you are unsure how to manage the slider images for the website template you chose, you can contact the Televox iapps Support team. Q. How would I change a picture size in iapps? A. Once logged into iapps, from your Dashboard navigate to Images. From here, navigate to the image you would like to modify and select Edit. Next, under the Resize section put in a new Width and Height for the image. Q. I uploaded a picture and placed it on my website, but it loads very slowly, what do I do? A. The image you uploaded is too large for a website to properly render, this isn t just iapps, rather any website would have trouble rendering such a large image. Try to keep all images uploaded into iapps under 400kb and preferably using the JPEG format. 2
Q. What size should my Homepage slider image be? A. This depends on which website template you chose. Vertical & Left-Alignment: 940w x 456h Horizontal Theme: 705w x 342h Horizontal & Centered Theme: 1920w x 310h Q. Those above images sound large, how will my website make them appear nicely on a mobile device? A. With Responsive Design, your images will always appear optimally on any mobile device! 3
Content Authoring Q. Can I delete content from my website? A. You can remove any content from your website. Anytime you make edits to a page, including removing content from that page, all of the changes will be recorded forever. This is a huge benefit to you for compliance reasons. This means that on every date and time in history, we know exactly what content was on your webpage. Q. Can I delete content from my Content Library? A. You wouldn t want to! The Content Library allows you to Archive content which makes it so the content will not appear on your website. The reason you cannot delete content is for the compliance reasons mentioned above. Q. I Can I make Archived content Active again? A. Absolutely! Navigate to that piece of content in the Content Library, hover over the More option and select Make Active. Q. I don t have the time to manage all of the content on my website, is there any professionally written content I can insert to save me time? A. Absolutely! Your Televox Website Powered by iapps integrates with a full library of professionally written content which you could access from your content library by choosing a folder in the content library and then pressing the Import icon. Q. I added a new Menu Item onto my website but it is not appearing, why? A. Great job adding that new Menu Item! To make it appear login to iapps, from the Dashboard navigate to Menus & Pages, locate the menu item you just created and you ll probably notice it is greyed out. Just select the Menu Item and click on the Make Visible icon. Just a reminder, when making a new Menu Item visible, make sure you have a published page connected to that menu item. Q. How do I translate text to a different language? A. If you d like to utilize the built in Bing translation feature, just navigate to the content you would like to translate in Edit Mode. Next, highlight the text you would like to translate and within the WYSIWYG editor, choose the Bing Translate feature and select the proper language. Q. What is this Save as Draft option I see in the iapps Toolbar? A. Great find! The Save as Draft feature is very important when editing content within iapps. iapps is a web based system, and like any web based technology you run the risk of timing out to avoid losing work you have spent time creating, make sure to use the Save as Draft button every ten minutes or so when editing content in Site Editor mode. Once your changes are final, don t forget to select Publish Now to make your changes live to the public. Think of it as the Save button in Microsoft word which we all use often when working on new documents. Q. Can I create new Forms in iapps? A. Yes you can! You can create new Forms using our easy Drag & Drop Forms builder and then lace those Forms onto your website pages. 4
Q. When I Publish changes to my page it takes me out of Site Editor mode, how do I get back? A. After Publishing a page, iapps will bring you into View As Live mode so you can see your changes the same way your website visitors would view the changes. To get back into Edit mode, click on the black iapps Toolbar at the top of your page and click on the little Pencil icon. Q. The WYSIWYG editor is adding extra line breaks and paragraphs, can I stop this? A. Sure thing! Just like Microsoft Word, the WYSIWYG editor will add a line break if you press Enter, if you do not want a line break just use Shift + Enter instead. 5
