2 This program is open to any eighth grade student. Selection is based on behavior, academic performance, and cooperation with faculty and other students. PHILOSOPHY AND OBJECTIVES Colonial Outbound 2013 (Boston and Williamsburg) is a fall research enrichment program designed to provide the participant with interesting and informative outdoor experiences in American History. To this end, the course shall hold the following statements as its structural and behavioral objectives: - Course activities shall be designed to effectively utilize the out-of-doors as a learning laboratory. - Course activities shall promote and instill proper and favorable stewardship for our natural surroundings. - Course activities shall be designed to promote both group and individual work skills and cooperation skills with each other. - Course activities shall be designed to promote the use of good safety practices in the out-of-doors at all times. - Course activities shall be designed to promote an understanding of the importance of the preservation of historical sites.

3 STUDENT APPLICATION FOR COLONIAL OUTBOUND 2013 All parents must choose and check a box and sign this form. We do not want to exclude any eligible student from this trip. The decision is final as of the date of submission. All applications need to be turned in no later than May 3, Balance of payment is due September 4, 2013 (Not Refundable). I, the undersigned parent or legal guardian of, hereby give permission for my child/student to participate in a school-sponsored Field Trip to the Boston, Massachusetts area or the Williamsburg, Virginia area from October 17, 2013 thru October 20, By allowing my child/student to participate in the field trip, I am acknowledging that a school official may become temporary custodian in the event that medical treatment is needed. In the event of a vehicular accident, I also understand and acknowledge that according to PA State law, my automobile insurance would be the first response; the immediate response for other injuries would be my health insurance.
