2 Naturelle Railing Kits Step 1. Step 3. Closely follow post install kit installation instructions (or sleeve existing wood 4x4) Step 2. *Make sure base trim is installed Install bracket dovetails with rounded side pointing up a. Bottom bracket dovetail installs 1-1/2" from top of base trim b. Top bracket dovetail installs 31-7/8" from top of base trim *2 person installation recommended Cut rails to length a. Place bottom rail across post opening leaving equivalent spacing from the last baluster and post on each end b. Mark ½" from end of post to allow room for bracket width and expansion c. Align top rail with bottom rail and cut both rails with miter box or hacksaw (see saw blade manufacturer's specs for correct blade) Note: you will have to cut through an aluminum insert in the top rail of an 8' section a. b. *Must pre-drill top rail dovetails into steel insert using a 5/32" drill bit c. Use 2" screws for top dovetails screws must penetrate steel insert d. Use 1-1/4" screws for bottom dovetails 31-7/8" 1-1/2" c. Step 4. Install 3" support brace a. 1 support brace is included with 6' railing kits. Measure equal distance from both ends of railing and install support brace in center of bottom rail For 67" rail: install center of support brace 33 ½" from ends of rail b. 2 support braces are included with 8' railing kits. Measure length of rail, divide by 3 and measure that distance from the end of your railing to the center of your first support brace and install support brace. Repeat that step from the opposite side of your rail. For 91" rail: divide 91" by 3 (=30 1 /3"); install center of both support braces 30 1 /3" from their respective ends 3" Support Br ac e 33½" 3" Support Br ac e 33½"

3 Step 5. Assemble railing section a. Lay bottom rail on a clean smooth surface and snap balusters into routed holes. Then repeat the process to connect the top rail Step 6. Slide brackets onto ends of rails (top and bottom) Step 7. Hang assembled rail section onto installed dovetails a. For railing sections using aluminum balusters the installer will have to carefully hold top and bottom railings together to make sure section does not separate (aluminum balusters do not come with lock tabs) Step 8. Install four 2" screws through the bottom of the top rail brackets into handrail. Pre-drill all four holes with a 5/32" drill bit. Install the first two screws straight (90 degrees) through the pre-drilled holes in the bottom of the bracket. Install the next two screws at 45 degrees through the brackets into the post, starting with the dimples on the bottom of the top rail bracket. For angled rail installation other than at 90 or 180 purchase left to right angle brackets. Follow steps from above During Step 2 Install bases at respective heights instead of dovetails Step 3 (b) Mark approximately 2" from end of post to allow for bracket and expansion (This distance may vary depending on individual installation) After Step 8 Slide provided pins in top/bottom angle brackets to lock angle brackets to base XpanseRail.com NRAIL/V.1/

5 Step 1. Closely follow post installation instructions (or sleeve existing wood 4x4) Step 2. Temporarily secure a deck board (5/4") to your stair treads to determine the spacing between the nose of the stairs and your bottom rail Naturelle Stair Rail Kits Temporary deck board Step 3. Assemble your stair railing section a. Lock tabs on baluster/spindle must face outer edge of routed holes in rails b. Assemble your stair railing section by snapping balusters/spindles in rails Lock tabs *2 person installation recommended Step 4. Aligning stair rail section with posts: a. Place assembled stair rail section adjacent to posts, as shown Outer edge holes b. Measure the distance from first and last baluster to the post making sure the distance is equal on both sides of stair rail sections and clamp in place Step 5. Mounting Your Top Rail Angle Bracket Bases: a. Hold base (angling down) on post adjacent to the clamped top rail b. With a pencil, mark all four holes on post c. Remove base from post d. With 5/32" drill bit pre-drill all four holes all the way through the steel insert e. With 2" screws (included) attach base to post f. Use plugs (included) to cover top angled screw holes Step 6. Mounting Your Bottom Angle Bracket Base: a. Hold base (angling down) on post adjacent to the clamped bottom rail b. With a pencil, mark all four holes on post c. Remove base from post d. With 1/8" drill bit pre-drill all four holes through plastic inserts Line up adjacent to top rail Attach base to post e. With 1 1/4" screws (included) attach base to post f. 6 Step 7. Cutting your stair rail kit to proper length a. Place angle brackets (top and bottom) onto the installed bases b. Mark stair rail at end of angle bracket, with bracket positioned at same angle as the stair rail. Repeat on all four brackets on rail sections Mark top rail at the end of angle bracket Mark bottom rail at the end of angle bracket Add 1" c. Remove clamped stair kit from posts d. Locate previous marked rails and add 1" to pre-determined measurements e. Cut all four 1" marks on rail at 90 degrees Step 8. Installing stair rail section to bottom post: a. Remove angle brackets from bases, and slide onto ends of stair rails b. Using two people, position the stair rail section above the installed bases, between the posts. c. Carefully lower rail section so that the angle brackets engage the bottom post bases (upper post not yet engaged) Engage bracket into base Slide pin into hole Installing flathead screw d. Slide pins (included) through hole on brackets (top and bottom rail) all the way into the base e. Install 1" flathead screws to side holes on top rail angle bracket Step 9. Installing stair rail section to top post: a. Slide angle brackets on ends of rails Rack stair rail section into place b. Carefully shift/move ( rack ) the stair rail section which is now anchored to the bottom post, until angle brackets engage with bases on the top post c. Slide pins (included) through hole on brackets (top and bottom rail) all the way through the base d. 8 Naturelle/Structure Deck Post It is the responsibility of the installer to meet and/or exceed all code and safety requirements, and to obtain all required building permits. The deck and railing installer should determine and implement appropriate installation techniques for each installation. Barrette Outdoor Living and its distributors shall not be held liable for improper or unsafe installations. Step 1. Install blocking at post locations a. Layout railing installation to determine post locations b. Beneath all post locations install at least two 2x8 blocks using at least three #10x3 ½ deck screws penetrating through the joists at least 1 ½ into the blocks (see diagram for details) For concrete installation skip Step 1b, and proceed to Step 2 Step 2. Raise bottom insert temporarily to allow room to fasten steel post to deck Step 3. Step 4. Mark holes through the bottom plate of steel post onto deck surface remove steel post and drill 3/8 hole in all four marks through the deck board and blocking Push 5/16" bolts (not included) through post plate and attach separate bottom plate from beneath deck surface (posts can be leveled as needed by using steel washers as shims) a. Purchase Grade 5 Steel 5/16" bolts with nuts approximately 1" longer than the distance between steel mounting plates (minimum 5") For concrete installation follow masonry anchor installation instructions Step 5. Finishing a. Return bottom insert to original position b. Slide vinyl post sleeve over post insert c. Slide second post insert into the tip of the vinyl post sleeve over the steel post d.
