1 Savannah Pride Festival October 20-23, 2016 Pride in the Park: Saturday, October 22 ABOUT THE FESTIVAL The Savannah Pride Festival is a weekend long series of events that celebrate the diversity of the LGBTQ family in Savannah and the Coastal Empire. Savannah Pride Festival in Forsyth Park, on Saturday, October 22, includes live music and performances, the Savannah Pride Marketplace with food vendors, artisans and other purveyors along with local community organizations and businesses. A VIP area and much more will also be part of Pride in the Park. With 6000 plus attendees in 2015, Savannah Pride events celebrate Savannah s diversity, and all are welcome to attend this family friendly event.

2 A Message from Savannah Pride Executive Director ~ Michael Wedincamp As the new Executive Director of Savannah Pride, and on behalf of the Savannah Pride Board, it is my pleasure to thank you for the opportunity to present our Sponsorship Opportunities to you for the 2016 Savannah Pride Festival. This year, we are expanding the festival to four days of events starting on Thursday, October 20, through Sunday, October 23, with the main event, Savannah Pride in Forsyth Park, to be held on Saturday, October 22! 2016 will mark the 17th Annual Savannah Pride Festival. As it has grown over the years, and found its home in Forsyth Park, the Board decided it was time to expand the event from a one day festival, to a long weekend of events celebrating the diversity of the LGBT community in Savannah and the region. This year s event lauds LGBT families in our area and beyond, inviting everyone to be a part of this family friendly weekend in the heart of Downtown Savannah. Through our partnership with Visit Savannah, we will reaching out to drive and direct flight markets to expand the reach of Savannah Pride, to increase attendance of the festival, and to share the unique hospitality that only Savannah has to offer! According to research, LGBT consumers make greater efforts to purchase services, products and goods from businesses that support LGBT events and advertise to this consumer group. The Savannah Pride Organization is proud to call this historic city home. With nearly two decades of celebration, awareness, and unity, Savannah Pride s mission of unity through diversity, and social awareness has helped promote the wellbeing of the LGBT community in the South. Savannah Pride is a 501(c)(3) non-profit with an all volunteer board of directors since 1999 Proceeds from Savannah Pride events go directly to cover expenses of the festival. A portion of proceeds are donated throughout the year to support other local and community charities. Contributions are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law.
