2 2 AGM 2016 Port Equipment Manufacturers Association A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT Dear PEMA members and guests, We are delighted to announce details of PEMA s 2016 AGM & Members Meeting, taking place 2-4 February at the Steigenberger Airport Hotel in Amsterdam. From its beginnings in 2004, when a small group of port equipment manufacturers decided that this sector needed its own industry forum and voice, today PEMA has over 95 member companies worldwide spanning equipment supply, advanced IT and technology, and consultancy. PEMA has consistently expanded its range of activities to represent our members and the industry at large, and today is involved in providing global market surveys, information papers, best practice recommendations, educational workshops and debates, standards development and outreach to the academic community. As traditional equipment manufacturing and high-tech innovation increasingly converge to help port and terminal operators improve their operational efficiency, safety and sustainability, PEMA continues to provide a unique forum for peer-to-peer dialogue and communication, as well as to engage with other key industry stakeholders. As usual, our AGM provides a chance to take stock of the previous year s activities and discuss upcoming plans for the year ahead with our members, partners and guests. A guest speaker panel will also update on the state of the market, with insights into the business drivers and operational priorities for the global ports and terminals industry and how these will shape future demand for equipment and technology solutions.
