3 1. Scope of this directive The packaging requirement applies to all construction and componet parts, which are delivered to MANN+HUMMEL GMBH division industrial filters located in Speyer. All packages have to be so designed that MANN+HUMMEL will be supplied with parts of high quality. 2. Packaging information In Europe, MANN+HUMMEL generally prefers to use multi-way cargo carriers made of recyclable materials. The aim is to create a continuous logistic chain and to use potential rationalisation which will be of benefit to both business partners. In addition, the MANN+HUMMEL Group and their suppliers operate according to the ecological principle waste avoidance before waste reduction before waste recycling, and thus contribute in a consistent way to waste avoidance. The supplier is responsible for providing suitable packaging for transport and handling, and must ensure the following: - all parts delivered in undamaged condition - correct identification through standardised and specified labels - hassle-free unloading by forcklift truck - unproblematic transport by hand forcklift - stability and stackability of packaging - optimum utilisation of space - compliance with delivery frequencies - easy removal of parts / optimum handling during production process According to the M+H packaging requirements, the supplier establishes packaging and filling quantity when submitting his quotation. If its is necessary, these arrangements can be changed at any time by MANN+HUMMEL after the first delivery. Deviations in justified cases (for example alternative packaging at SOP or extraordinary preliminary processes) are to be arranged with MANN+HUMMEL in time. The appropriate notation (e.g. alternative packaging ) must be written on the delivery note. Change status: 01 Date of Change: / ta page 3 of 11

6 3.3 Dimensions and weight - Package length: max mm - Package width: 800 mm or max mm - Package height: max mm inclusive pallet (in exceptional cases up to 2000 mm after consultation) - Package weight: the maximum filling weight of the packaging as well as the total weight of inclusive pallet are not to be exceeded 3.4 Stackability / transportation - 4-fold - Transportation by hand forcklift must be ensured - Forklift ground clearance min. 100 mm - Packages with more than 15 kg must be ready to underrun by forcklift 3.5 Particularities Allowed: - Packages banded with PVC or steel bands - Edge protection if required - Overseas packages with stretch film Not allowed: - Several articles per package - Packages with stretch film - Packages with welded seam - Upwards protruding parts in a wire net metal box (stacking capacity must be guaranteed) Miscellaneous: - Material combinations such as iron clamps or nails in wood are kept to a minimum and should be easy removable - Dangerous goods or hazardous materials must be marked in accordance with statutory provisions - Without a special arrangement between the supplier and MANN + HUMMEL there is no possibility for reshipment of packaging Change status: 01 Date of Change: / ta page 6 of 11

7 4. Accompanying documents The goods must be marked with appropriate labels. They are only accepted with reservation. All documents as well as labels must be written in German or English language. 4.1 Product label Goods must be marked with specified, standardised and barcode-readable product labels (see also sample labels) which can still be scanned automatically or readable on arrival, even after transport and exposure to climatic conditions. In a bundle all individual packages are to be marked. In any case, the label must contain the following data fields: - M+H item (if possible also as a barcode) - Notation as component - Number and item number carrier (eg, 1 of 8) - quantity per load - Weight - Shipping Date - Suppliers number or address - M+H order number - M+H receiver or unloading goods A detailed description is given in Appendix 1. If labels are missing, illegible or not filled in correctly, MANN+HUMMEL may charge the supplier with the resulting extra expenditure. The same applies if old product labels have not been removed, or when they have been affixed incorrectly. Change status: 01 Date of Change: / ta page 7 of 11

8 4.2 Delivery note The supplier is responsible for the correct preparation of the shipping documents according to standard norm DIN 4991 alternative VDA The delivery note must be drawn up in duplicate. Delivery notes without container details or with incorrect container inventory cannot be registered or cause difficulties concerning the receipt of goods. If it is not possible to write the container details on the delivery note, a separate delivery note is to be drawn up by the supplier. The delivery note must be fixed to the goods in a clearly visible way. Under no circumstances, delivery notes are to be placed in the loading devices or be distributed over various loading devices. A detailed description is given in Appendix 2. If delivery documents are missing or incomplet, MANN+HUMMEL may refuse to accept the goods or charge any additional costs. 9 5. Direct delivery of goods In the case of a direct delivery with several unloading points, MANN+HUMMEL determines the unloading hierarchy that has to be maintained. If there are additional loadings and unloadings due to a non-compliance with the hierarchy, MANN+HUMMEL can charge the supplier with the resulting extra expenditure. 10 6. Miscellaneous The suppliers have to pay attention that the packed filters and filter parts are protected against damage by a stable transportation packing. In case of problems with the packaging requirements, it is possible to make a special arrangement concerning packaging with the appropriate agency by MANN+HUMMEL in Speyer.
