1 Instructions for idevice users ipad, iphone, ipod How to set up MIS on an ios7 idevice How to set up MIS on an ios7 idevice The examples below use screen shots from an ipad running operating system ios On personal ios devices (ipads, iphones and ipod Touch devices) it is possible to have multiple accounts from different providers set up in the Mail App. This guide explains how to set up an MIS account. 1. Open the Settings App 1

Enter the Incoming Mail Server details: Host Name: pop.eq.edu.au User Name: your MIS logon ID Password: your MIS password 10. Enter the Outgoing Mail Sever details: Host Name: smtp.eq.edu.au Username: your MIS logon ID Password: your MIS password Note: Your MIS password details on the ipad will have to be updated manually when your password is changed or reset on the network Select Save to continue

The account is now created and appears in the list of Accounts (in this example as MIS email) 12 At this point you could close the Settings App and open the Mail App to check your MIS email.

However it is probably best to confirm your preference for how mail is dealt with on the server this will depend on how much you get and how often you check s. To change or edit settings or to check advanced settings the account needs to be opened again 12. Select the account you just set up (eg: MIS )

Select Advanced to continue 13 Note: there is also a Delete Account option to remove this account from the ipad completely if necessary at a later time.

This may be a suitable setting for the ipad if you mainly check your mail on a computer and only use the ipad occasionally for . If however the ipad is your primary tool for checking then by never deleting the s from the server you will run out of space. How quickly that will happen depends on how many s you get and the size of any attachments. To change this setting Select Delete from server

10 The Delete from server window opens 16 For most people it is recommended to choose the option to delete s from the server after 7 days. 15 If this is a suitable option for you 15.
