19 Seed Grants for International and Outreach Activities Since 2001, we have funded 118 innovative programs aimed at advancing knowledge, enriching student learning and solving society s most pressing problems. 22 of which involved European partners Total seed grant funding of $1,000,000 has generated approx. $19,000,000 in external funds

20 Research FY 2008 we received 3,753 awards totaling $587,671, total foreign sponsors awards in which UC Davis is project leader approximately $35million 126 from Europe, vast majority private companies e.g.roche, Novartis

21 Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) Experiment at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN Joined in 1992 One of the founding members of the CMS experiment 3,400 collaborators from 180 institutes in 38 countries. More than a dozen UC Davis physicists, engineers, and graduate students
