5 Requirements for Deploying inotes HTTP task needs to be running on the Domino Server where inotes is being hosted Option 1 is to add http to the notes ini, startup task line Option 2 is to 'load http' from domino server console inotes Code needs to be on the server For Mail8.ntf based mail file, data/inotes/forms8.nsf file should exist For Mail85.ntf based mail file, data/inotes/forms85.nsf file should exist Cluster replication is required for load balancing between multiple domino server The mail file location on web corresponds to the mail file location under the domino data directory. 9 Configuration inotes Redirect Database Overview Allows Lotus inotes users to access their mail file and mail server using only the name of the inotes Redirect server Uses Domino authentication methods to redirect a user's browser to their mail file based on their username and password Create Lotus inotes Redirect application using IWAREDIR.NTF template Configure Redirect application This can be done through the Notes client 2012 IBM Corporation 9

10 Troubleshooting Determining Scope of the issue Is this a new problem? Has this problem occurred in the past? What change started this problem? Is this problem unique to inotes? Does this problem occur in the Lotus Notes client as well? How often can this problem be reproduced? Does this problem every time you do a certain action? That action produces this problem? What is the scope of the problem? Can the problem be reproduced on multiple workstations? Can the problem be reproduced with different mail files? Is this problem unique to the browser Internet Explorer / Firefox / Chrome / Safari? Is it unique to a specific version of the browser? 2012 IBM Corporation 10

11 Details to provide when opening a support ticket Domino server version -- including any fix packs or hotfixes Client operating system, browser & version inotes Forms db version -- including whether an inotes-specific hotfix has been applied Are any customizations being used (i.e. Forms_x)? Is there a policy applied to this user (organizational or explicit)? If so, what policy settings have been pushed down to the user's mail database? What inotes parameters are configured in the server's notes.ini? What settings in the server Configuration document are different from their default values?
