Mterils for pressure contining prts shll be ordered complying with the technicl delivery conditions in 4.3. Mrking of mterils for pressure contining prts shll be performed in ccordnce with 4.4. Mterils shll be selected in ccordnce with Annex A. 8

9 Mterils shll be selected to be comptible with nticipted fbriction steps nd to be suitble for the internl fluid nd externl environment. Both norml operting conditions nd trnsient conditions occurring during fbriction, trnsport, testing, commissioning nd decommissioning shll be tken into ccount when specifying the mterils. NOTE 2 When technicl delivery conditions for pressure-contining prts re developed, the structure nd requirements of EN should be met. Exceptions should be techniclly justified. The mterils shll be grouped in ccordnce with CR ISO to relte mnufcturing nd inspection requirements to generic mteril types. If the technicl delivery condition does not contin the specific mteril vlues required for the design temperture s the vlues required in EN for the design shll be determined by liner interpoltion between the two djcent vlues. Vlues shll not be rounded up. For other thn ustenitic nd ustenitic-ferritic stinless steels, the specified vlue of R eh (R p0,2 ) t room temperture my be used for tempertures less thn or equl to 50 C. Interpoltion for design tempertures between 50 C nd 100 C shll be performed with the vlues of R eh t room temperture nd t 100 C, nd using 20 C s the strting point for interpoltion. Above 100 C liner interpoltion shll be performed between the tbulted vlues given in the pproprite mteril stndrds. In the cse of creep rupture strength vlues or strength vlues for plstic strin in given time, liner interpoltion shll be permissible only if the difference between the two tempertures serving s strting points for the interpoltion is equl to or less thn 10 C Mterils in the creep rnge shll not be used unless the creep rupture strength vlues or strength vlues for plstic strin needed for design re specified in the bse mteril specifiction. The mnufcturer of the piping system instlltion shll be ssured by the mteril supplier tht the mteril supplied is cpble of complying with specified properties (within the norml sctter bnd) by sttement tht the mnufcturing processes hve remined equivlent to those for the steel for which the test results were obtined Prevention of brittle frcture The requirements given in Annex B shll pply Specific requirements for fsteners Fsteners includes bolts, studs nd nuts. Free cutting steel shll not be used. Fsteners mde of crbon steel or low lloyed ferritic steel with > 3,5 % nickel shll not be used bove 300 C. The specified minimum tensile strength of br mteril of ferritic nd mrtensitic steel for bolts shll not exceed N/mm 2. The minimum elongtion fter frcture of br mteril shll be t lest 14%. 11

12 Impct requirements for ferritic steels shll be in ccordnce with in B Bolt mteril with design temperture below 160 C shll be impct tested t 196 C. NOTE Detiled requirements on the surfce condition nd internl soundness of the br cn be necessry for some pplictions Lined piping The pressure contining steel of lined industril piping need not be suitble for the internl fluid if the lining provides lek tight continment during opertion. 4.3 Technicl delivery conditions Europen Stndrds The Europen Stndrds for pltes, strip, brs, tubes, fittings, forgings, cstings, flnges, vlve bodies nd other pressure ccessories for pressure prts shll be used to the limittions specified in Tble A.3, for the supply of mterils for use in piping system. NOTE Tble A.2 contins n informtive summry of the Europen Stndrds for mterils referred to. Specil provisions due to fbriction nd opertion shll be tken into ccount, if pproprite Europen Approvl for Mterils A mteril specified in n EMDS for piping system shll only be used within its rnge of ppliction Prticulr Mteril Apprisls Mterils other thn those specified in nd my lso be used provided tht they hve been ccepted by prticulr mteril pprisl Cld products Technicl delivery conditions for cld products for pressure prts shll be in ccordnce with the requirements of Annex C. For Europen stndrdized mterils, the mrking shll fulfil the requirements of the relevnt stndrd. For mterils not contined in Europen stndrd the mrking shll t lest contin: the mteril specifiction (reference, mteril designtion); the mnufcturer's nme or mrk; the stmp of the inspection representtive, if pplicble. For mteril supplied with specific inspection the mrking shll include n identifiction which permits the correltion between the product or delivery unit nd the relevnt inspection document. 5 Requirements for mterils to be used for non-pressure prts For non-pressure prts, e.g. supporting lugs, skirts, bffles nd similr prts welded to industril piping, nd for welding consumbles, mterils shll be used which re supplied to mteril specifictions covering t lest the requirements for the chemicl composition nd the tensile properties. These mterils shll not limit the operting conditions of the mteril to which they re ttched. 13
