1 Elementary Middle High

2 A teacher-delivered grammar program accessed via the Internet. Five levels of instruction for students of all ages. Flexible and easy to use. All the tools you need to provide grammar instruction. Especially appropriate for English learners and students reading below grade level.

3 The Grammar Gallery program integrates a broad range of grade-level standards with a focus on the Common Core State Standards and addresses the grammar that students are expected to know at each grade.

4 For example.. Common Core State Standards call for: - Kindergartners to form regular plurals - Fifth graders to form/use perfect verb tenses - Ninth and tenth graders to analyze nuances in words

5 The program covers 60 social and academic topics and themes that reflect real life not too juvenile for older students or too mature for younger ones.

6 The program makes liberal use of stunning photographs, graphics, and other images to support the content. The program includes 10,000+ visuals!

7 BEGINNING LEVELS OF THE PROGRAM: Focus on concrete nouns and simple tenses Emphasize sentence structures that allow students to communicate basic needs

8 ADVANCED LEVELS OF THE PROGRAM: Spiral upward to progressively more abstract vocabulary and sophisticated tenses Emphasize complex sentence structures that facilitate highly refined expression

9 Based on these considerations, the program authors developed a construct for teachers to follow in using Grammar Gallery with students in grades K-12 and adults. Click here to see a description of student abilities at each language level. * Only certain Level 4 grammatical forms are appropriate for students in grades 3-5. ** Only certain Level 3 grammatical forms are appropriate for students in grades 1-2. *** Only certain Level 2 grammatical forms are appropriate for kindergarten students.

10 Scenario #1: Kindergarten - Level 1* resources reflect the academic content appropriate for kindergartners - Initial focus is on nouns (concrete nouns related to the students environment) - Pace of instruction is relatively slow to help kindergartners adjust to classroom environment - Use a more limited range of program support materials and/or make modifications (e.g., read aloud texts in the Reading Gallery) *You may target one or two forms in Level 2 for advanced kindergartners

11 Scenario #2: Grades Level 1, 2, and 3** resources reflect the academic content appropriate for first and second graders - Place Level 1 ELs in Level 1 - Place Level 2 and 3 ELs in Level 2 - Place Level 4 and 5 ELs in Level 3 - Pace of instruction will be relatively slow - Use a more limited range of program support materials and/or make modifications (e.g., read aloud the texts in the Reinforce lessons) *Some forms may not be appropriate
