From heavy duty locomotive to light rail applications, from low speed city metros to very high speed trains: IGW is your engineering partner for any transmission solution. We have been involved in major rail projects around the world (more than 250), covering trams and metro, plus high speed trains in the People s Republic of China. Gears are designed with load optimized correction and profile ground using state of the art grinding technology. Couplings for every application in different designs (connection motor to gear unit, or gear unit to axle). 250 RAILROAD PROJECTS We supply complete systems, comprising gearbox, couplings, reaction rod and support elements, we can also adapt to existing supply chains. The design standardization of our labyrinths, covers and bearings delivers valuable cost advantages for our customers. Housings are as standard, made from high grade ductile cast iron (aluminum castings are also available). Bearings are selected for railway applications conforming to specific railway requirements. WE HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN MORE THAN 250 RAILROAD PROJECTS AROUND THE WORLD. We handle all drive configurations (fully, semi or half-suspended), as well as combinations of helical and bevel gears, plus all coupling types and a range of housing arrangements. TRAM LRV DRIVES OPTIMUM DESIGN FOR TIGHT REQUIREMENTS We design and manufacture a variety of gear solutions for tram and LRV applications across the world. We are experienced in a wide range of vehicle types and in a variety of gearbox designs: wheel or axel-mounted, fully or semi-suspended, single or double-helical, bevel, helical bevel or bevel helical gear units. Limited space, plus frequent stops and starts with high torque values and maximum load are typical requirements.
