2 Please note that only tuition, fees, room and board (for students living on campus) are to be paid directly to Vaughn College. Students are free to investigate their own off campus housing and meal options, as well as their own books, transportation, and miscellaneous expenses. Students will need to show a sponsor s ability to pay for books, transportation and miscellaneous expenses via financial documents submitted with the Vaughn International Application Supplement, but these fees are not paid directly to the College. Students who do not plan to live in Vaughn s residence hall/hostel will need to provide financial proof of their sponsor s ability to pay for housing and meal arrangements. Those students will need to provide the expected costs of their accommodations, as well as show how these costs will be met. If students will be living with friends or relatives, those friends/relatives must provide an affidavit offering free room and board. This affidavit is part of the Vaughn College International Application Supplement. 3 VAUGHN COLLEGE SNIST Scholarship Offers to Qualified Students Vaughn College is pleased to extend two categories of scholarship offers to our students studying at SNIST. All scholarships take into account each student s academic GPA as of the end of the fall 2012 semester. First year students who wish to transfer must wait until their spring 2013 grades have been submitted. Unfortunately, that may make them ineligible for certain deadlines. Any first year student who becomes ineligible for a deadline while waiting for his or her spring 2013 grades should contact ernie.shepelsky@vaughn.edu FROM HIS OR HER VAUGHN COLLEGE ACCOUNT ONLY; Mr. Shepelsky will evaluate each case individually. Scholarship Category 1 Partial-tuition scholarship and full residential scholarship in Vaughn s residence hall/hostel for the fall of 2013 and the spring of Vaughn College has made available Four (4) scholarships for students who would like to attend Vaughn s New York City campus for the Fall of 2013 and the Spring of 2014 and live ON CAMPUS. These scholarships will cover the full cost of a double room in Vaughn s residence hall/hostel (a value of $9,450 for the academic year), as well as a partial-tuition scholarship depending on the GPA of the scholarship winner. A student with a GPA of 4.0 to 3.5 as of the end of the fall 2012 semester will receive an $9,450 residential/hostel scholarship (to be used only toward a space in the residence hall/hostel) as well as a $4,800 academic scholarship toward tuition. A student with a GPA of 3.49 to 3.0 as of the end of the fall 2012 semester will receive an $9,450 residential/hostel scholarship (to be used only toward a space in the residence hall/hostel) as well as a $3,600 academic scholarship toward tuition. Students with GPA S below 3.0 ARE NOT eligible for a Category 1 scholarship. Students with GPA S below 2.0 will not be considered for transfer. IN THE EVENT THAT MORE THAN FOUR (4) QUALIFIED STUDENTS APPLY FOR SCHOLARSHIP CATEGORY 1 (FULL RESIDENTIAL AND PARTIAL TUITION), THE FOLLOWING ORDER WILL BE USED TO SELECT THE SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS: Top Priority Best GPA from a third-year student Second Priority Best GPA from a second-year student Third Priority Best GPA from a from a first-year student

4 ALL ADMISSIONS APPLICATIONS FOR SCHOLARSHIP CATEGORY 1 ARE DUE IN THE ADMISSIONS OFFICE NO LATER THAN MAY 15, FOR AN APPLICATION TO BE CONSIDERED COMPLETE, IT MUST INCLUDE A $40 APPLICATION FEE. ON OR ABOUT JUNE 10, AN WILL BE SENT TO ALL APPLICANTS NOTIFYING THEM OF THE FOUR STUDENTS WHO HAVE BEEN SELECTED, AS WELL AS THE NAMES OF ANY STUDENTS WHO ARE PLACED ON A WAITING LIST, IN CASE ADDITIONAL RESIDENTIAL/HOSTEL SCHOLARSHIPS BECOME AVAILABLE. Students then will need to send in their INTERNATIONAL APPLICATION SUPPLEMENTS AND ALL SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION BY NO LATER THAN JULY 1, An I-20 form will be sent to you immediately after your application supplement and all supporting documents are received and verified. We encourage you to send these to Vaughn as soon as possible and begin collecting them before you are notified on June 10 (just in case). May 15, 2013 is the deadline, but we encourage you to submit your documents as soon as possible. STUDENTS WHO DO NOT RECEIVE A CATEGORY 1 SCHOLARSHIP (EVEN THOSE PLACED ON THE WAITING LIST) WILL BE OFFERED AN OPPORTUNITY TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF A CATEGORY 2 SCHOLARSHIP, FOR WHICH THERE WILL BE NO LIMIT.

5 Scholarship Category 2 Partial-tuition scholarship for students who will either live off-campus or pay the full price of a residential room in the Vaughn residence hall/hostel (assuming one is still available). Vaughn College has made available an unlimited number of scholarships for students who would like to attend Vaughn s New York City campus for the fall of These scholarships will cover a partial cost of tuition and fees, depending on the GPA of the scholarship winner. They DO NOT include any housing arrangements. A student with a GPA of 4.0 to 3.5 as of the end of the fall 2012 semester will receive a $6,800 academic scholarship toward tuition for the fall of 2013 and the spring of A student with a GPA of 3.49 to 3.0 as of the end of the fall 2012 semester will receive a $5,700 academic scholarship toward tuition for the fall of 2013 and the spring of A student with a GPA of 2.99 to 2.0 as of the end of the fall 2012 semester will only be eligible for transfer after a comprehensive review of his/her academic record. If accepted for transfer, the student will receive a $2,700 academic scholarship toward tuition for the fall of 2013 and the spring of Students with GPA S below 2.0 will not be considered for transfer. There are no deadlines for these scholarships. The only deadlines that apply are those set by the admissions office. The scholarship will automatically be posted on your for I-20 and you will need to provide financial documents for the total amount of your tuition, fees, room, board, etc., less the amount of the scholarship to which you are entitled.
