2 Welcome to Parks, Sports and Recreation in the City of Manassas! The City of Manassas has 11 parks to choose from for outdoor entertainment and exercise. Many of these parks have tennis and basketball courts that can be enjoyed all year long. The City also offers recreational fields that accommodate softball, baseball, soccer, football, and many other activities. There are bike and walking paths in the city where a refreshing scenic walk or a ride around the City can be enjoyed. Looking for a cool down? Stonewall Park Pool is a great place for summer fun, swim teams and swim lessons. There are pavilions and picnic areas at many of the parks for birthday parties, picnics and sporting events. 3 Welcome to the City of Manassas! Just outside of Washington, D.C., lies a small city that feels like home - the City of Manassas. It s 10 square miles of homes, the arts, entertainment, community and sporting events. Incorporated in 1975, the City of Manassas is thirty miles southwest of the Nation s Capital and surrounded by Prince William County. Steeped in history and tradition, the city center has an old town feel with a city square type event pavilion - the Harris Pavilion. Residents and visitors can watch a band or attend an ice cream social in the summer and ice skate in the winter. The city also offers a museum rich in Civil War and local Virginia history. On many weekends, visitors can drop by the Museum lawn to participate in an event that both educates and entertains. The City invests in history and the arts at Center for the Arts at the Candy Factory and the Hylton Performing Arts Center. The City of Manassas also offers many other kinds of artistic endeavors; coffee with the curator of the museum, art studios, writing groups, and a ballet company, to name a few. The City of Manassas has a diverse population of involved residents. The city operates water, sewer and electric utilities for residents, and has been recognized for excellence in service and customer satisfaction. And, although the City of Manassas is rich in history, it is also home to fortune 500 companies and the largest general aviation airport in Virginia. 8 Old Town Skate Park Bring your board and your friends and enjoy the ride! Old Town Skate Park is open to the public and you can usually find a few skaters on deck or riding the pipes. Located at 8291 Prince William Street, the Old Town Skate Park is open year round.

9 Harris Pavilion During summer months, Harris Pavilion is the center of activity, offering concerts, festivals, dances, ice cream socials and the Old Town Farmers Market. Harris Pavilion is also available for private events. In the winter, the Loy E. Harris Pavilion is transformed into a winter wonderland. Break out your ice skates or rent them, but come out and skate at this covered outdoor pavilion. Harris Pavilion is located at 9201 Center Street in the center of Old Town Manassas. 10 Stonewall Park & Pool Stonewall Park Pool is located at 8351 Stonewall Road, Manassas, VA Stonewall Park Pool is a great place for summer fun, swim teams, and swim lessons. For more information on hours and fees, visit Stonewall Park has a covered picnic pavilion and grills. Residents can reserve the pavilion for birthday parties and family events by calling Also located in Stonewall Park is a.9 mile fitness trail, a large and small playground for children, basketball courts, lighted tennis courts and a multi-use field for soccer or football.

11 Byrd Park Byrd Park, at 8528 Cavalry Lane, has a covered picnic pavilion with grills available for reservation for parties and cookouts. Byrd Park has two regulation sized softball fields that can be reserved by calling The park also features basketball courts and a roller hockey court. Bankshot Basketball is also available at this site. Bankshot Basketball is a family friendly sport because players do not play against one another but along-side one another. This sport is a non-running and non-exclusionary game, accommodating wheelchair players, the physically and cognitively challenged, grandparents, children and everyone else at the same time. Players use a basketball as they would to play puttputt golf. Byrd Park also includes an adult work out area. While the children play on the playground equipment, parents can work out within eyesight of the playground.

12 E. G. Smith Park E. G. Smith Baseball Complex, located at 9692 Godwin Drive, is the baseball complex for the City of Manassas. The park includes eight fields with lights, a concessions stand, restrooms, an announcer s box and plenty of parking. The Greater Manassas Baseball League uses these fields during their season and field use is subject to the leagues availability. 13 Kinsley Mill Park Located at 8844 Hastings Drive, Kinsley Mill Park has tall shade trees which make this a perfect park for family gatherings. The park includes a roller hockey court, basketball court, playground equipment, a small t-ball field and a picnic area with grills.

14 Dean Park Located at 9680 Wellington Road, Dean Park has plenty of space to accommodate large gatherings. This is the City of Manassas largest park and includes basketball courts, tennis courts, walking trails, a playground, a t-ball field and lighted softball fields (reservation only).

15 Our Smaller Parks Baldwin Park Right behind the Manassas Museum, at 9101 Prince William Street, is a hidden gem that is great for small birthday parties or a gathering of friends. Cavalry Run Park Located at 9201 Ashton Avenue, Cavalry Run Park has two tennis courts, a playground and a basketball court. Oakenshaw Park Located at 9556 Oakenshaw Drive, this park has two basketballl courts, a playground and a t-ball field to be enjoyed. Walter Delisle Park Located at 9103 Battle Street, this little park is tucked back in a small parcel of land which once was a community eye sore. Thanks to a creative and resourceful community, this neighborhood now has a beautiful park to enjoy. The park has a picnic table and toddler slide. Winterset Park Located at 8252 Winterset Drive, Winterset Drive has two basketball courts and a playground for smaller children.

16 Manassas Boys & Girls Club Located at 9501 Dean Park Lane in the City of Manassas, the Boys & Girls Club offers basketball, flag football, tackle football, girls volleyball, soccer leagues and cheerleading to youth ages 5 to 18. Seasonal leagues are open to all children, however a Boys & Girls Club membership is required ($30 annual fee). This 42,000 square foot facility has three gyms (one wood, one carpet, one synthetic) and a fitness center. The Manassas Boys & Girls Club is great for corporate meetings, banquets, sporting events and performances of all types. 17 More Information Park Rentals: All City of Manassas Parks may be rented for various functions on a first come/first served basis. Park rental applications will be taken beginning Jan. 1 each year. Park Prices: Jennie Dean, Stonewall, Nelson, and Byrd Parks: $80 for residents for 3 hour minimum, $20 each additional hour $100 for non-residents for 3 hour minimum, $30 each additional hour All other Parks: $50 for residents for 3 hour minimum, $15 each additional hour $70 for non-residents for 3 hour minimum, $25 each additional hour Field Rentals: To reserve a field for a game or tournament, visit Fields are available for rental between March 15 - Nov. 15 each year. 18 Walking Paths in the City In 2012, the City of Manassas embarked on a wellness plan with the help of a local pharmacy. During this wellness activity, 17 walking loops were defined throughout the City. Some are short walks residents can take in under 20 minutes, while others are a little longer. These walking loops encourage residents and visitors to get out and enjoy the City of Manassas.
