1 FALL SPORTS ACTIVITIES 2015 Dear Parents and Youngsters: Port Washington Youth Activities, Inc. (PYA) is pleased to announce the FALL SPORTS ACTIVITIES Program for Featuring: Instructional-Intramural Flag Football for boys Grades 2-3 and 4-5. Instructional-Intramural Baseball for boys Grades K - 2 only. Baseball (minor and major leagues) (Grades 3-7). Girls Fall Softball (Grades K - 7). Boys Fall Lacrosse, Roller Hockey, Fall Tennis, Girls Fall Lacrosse. Enclosed is complete information for each sport activity including registration dates and fees. Please return your completed registration form, along with your check payable to PYA, to: PYA Fall Activities P.O. Box 69 Port Washington, NY You can also sign up online at and use your credit card.
2 FLAG FOOTBALL 2015 PYA will be continuing its highly successful flag football program for boys Grades 2-3 and 4-5 in Port Washington and Manhasset. This program will provide exposure to all aspects of the fundamentals of the game, rules and equipment, and is designed especially for youngsters with little or no football experience, or basic skills. Under the supervision of experienced coaches, the boys will have the opportunity to learn and play at each position, participate in team play. FLAG FOOTBALL provides a safe, fun and positive environment for the boys to learn and play with youngsters their own size and age and to develop proper skills and confidence. No football equipment is required for this program except mouthpieces. First practice will be Sunday, September 13th at LIONS FIELD, PORT WASHINGTON (1PM until 3PM). All games will be held at LIONS FIELD, PORT WASHINGTON on SUNDAYS in October and NOVEMBER. With varying game times at noon, 1:30PM & 3:00PM. REGISTRATION FEE is $ (Game Jersey will be included). Now offering Grades 4 and 5!
3 INSTRUCTIONAL BASEBALL 2015 BOYS GRADES K TO 2 This program provides an excellent introduction to basic baseball skills, technique, and sportsmanship. It will enhance individual play, provide a first and very positive opportunity for team play and will prepare the players for LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL. Instructional Baseball will run from SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 12th until SATURDAY, OCTOBER 24th (weather permitting). Practice and games will be held at LIONS FIELD, on SATURDAYS at the times listed below. All Baseball fields will be utilized in order to allow for small instructional groups. KINDERGARTEN... 12:00 NOON to 1:15PM 1ST GRADE... 12:00 NOON to 1:15PM 2ND GRADE... 1:15PM to 2:30PM Due to the large enrollment in this program SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 12th, 2015 will be the FINAL Registration for Fall Baseball. REGISTRATION FEE is $ (Fee includes a Long Sleeve Shirt & Hat). intramural Baseball 2015 The PYA Fall Intramural Baseball Program for grades 3-7 will begin on SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 12th, 2015 at the times listed below. There will be a Minor and a Major League Division. All games will be played on Saturday afternoons during the times listed below. Minor League (Grades 3 & 4) - 2:30PM to 4:00PM Major League (Grades 5-7) 4:00PM to 5:30PM REGISTRATION FEE is $ (Includes Long Sleeve Uniform Shirt and Hat).
4 FALL TENNIS 2015 The Tennis Program for youngsters 8-10 years old is run by the Port Washington Tennis Academy. The cost is $ The dates for 2015 are October 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd from 5 PM until 6:30 PM. All sessions will be 1 and 1/2 hours in duration. This program will be INDOORS this Fall. All applications must be accompanied by a check and a Lottery drawing will be held on September 23rd, 2015 (Wednesday) at 5 PM at the Academy to determine the participants in the Fall 2015 PYA Tennis Program. There will be 16 players and 2 alternates drawn on that day. PYA FALL Roller Hockey 2015 The PYA Fall Roller Hockey Program, with the completion of the State of the Art Rink at Manorhaven Park, will begin its League Season on Fri. September 11th at 4:00 PM. Players will be divided into ability Groups (6-9 year old - Mites), (10-12 year old Pee-wees). The Program will be conducted from September 11th, 2015 til October 30th, 2015 at the Manorhaven Park Roller Rink. Final registration will be held at the Manorhaven Park Rink on Fri., September 11th, Registration fee $ GIRLS FALL SOFTBALL 2015 Girls fall softball: Grades K - 8. Saturday Mornings Grades K - 2 from 10:30AM until 11:45AM Grades 3-7 from 9:00AM until 10:30AM * (Some games maybe played on Saturday afternoons or Sundays for girls in Grades 3rd to 8th). Start Date: September 12th, 2015 End Date: October 24th, 2015 Purpose: To develop girls softball skills for the spring 2016 season. The PYA softball coaches will be available to work with all players developing skills and playing games. The PYA Girls Softball Program is growing by leaps and bounds. This program will be developing players for the summer of Registration Fee: $ Grades K - 2 $ Grades 3-7 (Jersey and Visor Included).
5 GIRLS FALL LACROSSE 2015 Girls fall LACROSSE: Grades 1-6 Monday afternoons 4:30PM until 6:00PM Start Date: September 14th, 2015 End Date: October 26th, 2015 Registration Fee: $ per player. (Jersey Included). BOYS FALL LACROSSE 2015 Boys Fall Lacrosse Grades K - 6 Thursday afternoons 4:45PM until 6:15PM Start date: September 10th, 2015 End date: October 29th, 2015 Registration Fee: $ per player (Jersey Included). A limited number of scholarships are available, however, anyone interested in obtaining a scholarship must speak with the PYA Executive Director or Program Director for approval. For all weather related field closings check UPCOMING EVENTS PYA Golf Outing - 10/12/15 (Columbus Day) - Village Club of Sands Point.
