2 Testing Process with SPS 1 Are you going to still receive production 850's while testing? Are there different qualifiers and IDs for testing? 1 We're already set up with EDI 850, do we need to test with SPS again? 1 We have 2 internal divisions that trade with BCF. Both use the same translation software and ERP. Are we required to pay twice? 1 How is our present EDI set up with QRS affected with SPS in the picture? 1 If I am currently an EDI vendor, do I have to change my maps? Will all divisions of Burlington want to be EDI compliant including legacy accounts, and what is the deadline to have it done? 1 What if we have an outside party already doing our EDI for us, do we still need to have it tested by you? 4 Testing Process with SPS Are you going to still receive production 850 s while testing? Are there different qualifiers and id s for testing? Production orders using the current maps will continue during the testing. SPS Commerce will provide specific testing partnership qualifiers and id for this testing initiative. Once testing is completed, you will coordinate with BCF to turn on the new transactions in production. We're already set-up with EDI do we need to test with SPS again? Yes, the 850 structure that you are currently exchanging will be changing quite dramatically. All suppliers will need to be able to handle the new structure/requirement for not only the 850 transaction but 856, 810,and the 997 transactions as well. We have 2 internal divisions that trade with BCF. Both use the same translation software and ERP. Are we required to pay twice? No, you will only have to test and pay once. How is our present EDI set-up with QRS affected with SPS in the picture? It depends if you are talking about QRS VAN services or consulting services. If you are talking about QRS the VAN, you can still use their VAN services. If you are talking QRS the consulting service that processes EDI transactions for your company, then you will still have to test on the new specifications, and QRS will likely have to update their maps to incorporate the changes. If I am currently an EDI vendor, do I have to change my maps? Will all divisions of Burlington want to be EDI compliant including legacy accounts and what is the deadline to have it done? Many of the transactions have changes to the structure and they are quite dramatic. All suppliers will need to be able to handle the new structures/requirements for all transactions, therefore you will most likely need to change your maps. All BCF divisions will be using the new structure. There is documentation that is available to you through SPS Commerce that will generally explain the deadline requirement. What if we have an outside party already doing our EDI for us, do we still need to have it tested by you? And if so, why? Many of the transactions have changes to the structure quite dramatically. 5 If we currently participate in prepack, do we still have to test? Many of the transactions have changes to the structure are quite dramatic. All suppliers will need to be able to handle the new structure/requirement for all transactions. MAILBOX VAN Does SPS Commerce support the mailbox that we will be using to get the EDI? If you are asking if SPS Commerce provides you with a VAN mailbox for traditional EDI, the answer would be no. You are required to get connected to a VAN yourself to transact traditional EDI or use your current VAN service. If you do not wish to do so, you can instead choose one of many solutions from SPS Commerce including the web forms service. Will all orders for all of our Vendor IDs flow through one mailbox (qual/id)? All data will flow through a single VAN mailbox (ISA qualifier and ID) however, suppliers can determine whether they need separate partnerships for each BCF vendor number or require only a single partnership. If a separate, partnership is required, the BCF vendor number will be used (GS qualifier and ID). Please provide this information to the SPS Commerce representative We don't use EasyLink. Can we interconnect with another Van? SPS Commerce is not a VAN so your relationship with your VAN will remain the same. You will be required to test your maps with SPS Commerce. SPS Commerce can communicate with most VAN's. Does Burlington have the ability to trade EDI via AS2, or without using a VAN? Burlington will need all vendors to use a VAN interconnect. Recently your company switched to Sterling Commerce. Are you changing to SPS Commerce? SPS Commerce is not a VAN. Sterling Commerce is our VAN, and SPS Commerce is our testing and certification partner. You will be required to test your maps with SPS Commerce, but you can continue to use any VAN you chose. Will we be able to use the EDI network we now use with Burlington once we go live with these other changes? Production orders using the current maps will continue as is. SPS Commerce will provide specific testing partnership qualifiers and id for this testing initiative. How is our present EDI set-up with QRS-VAN affected with SPS in the picture? If you are currently exchanging EDI with use, you will only be testing the new transaction structure with SPS Commerce. 6 Legal Letter Do we need to fax back a legal letter if we are a non-edi vendor? Only companies that will be using EDI with us for the first time need to complete and return the legal letter. Current EDI trading partners do not need to resign the legal letter. EDI Specifications Does the change over to EDI systems apply only to Burlington Coat Factory, or does it also include other subsidiary companies such as Decelle and Cohoes. At this time, it only applies to Burlington Coat Factory, Luxury Linens, Totally for Kids, and MJM Designer Shoes. Burlington is not doing EDI with Cohoes at this time. The Decelle chain is closed. If we currently participate in prepack do we still have to test? Yes, because the specifications for all the documents have changed. Where will I find the prepack mapping? You can access a link to the BCF website through SPS Commerce Portal account or go directly to the BCF website using the following URL: Will Burlington start using UPC codes instead of their SKU? If suppliers require the use of UPC codes on, you will need to contact your buyer and coordinate this effort. BCF is currently working on an initiative to incorporate UPC codes into their purchasing system along with a UPC catalog. This initiative is planned for Q implementation. How drastic are the changes to their EDI documents? My company is already in production with the 850, 810, 856 and UCC 128 bar code label. 7 Will you be testing direct ship to stores and not to the warehouses? The test PO scenario will cover both ship to store and ship to Warehouse. Does the new EDI requirements apply to vendors shipping to stores vs. DC locations? EDI 856 notices specifically. The new EDI requirements apply to both cases. Shipping to DC or to the stores. What EDI version do you trade? EDI-X12- Version We are planning to support either 4050 or 4060 in the future. Is the UCC Bar Code Label 100% standard? Yes Must I recertify my UCC 128 label? Yes Will I receive a single PO with both Bulk and Prepack structure? There is the potential that product will be ordered in this way. If you transmit an 850 in bulk and prepack, do we submit an 856 and 810 in prepack and bulk also? On the 810, you can the option to communicate the items and /or the packing structure.
