Box Shreveport, LA F RO M THE PRESIDENT S DESK I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year with family and friends. This is our first newsletter in the New Year, and I would like to start off by welcoming our new Board Members for 2014, Jeff Crockett, Internet Director, Stephen Gayer, Member at Large, and Rhonda Butler, Show Director. I would also like to thank our outgoing officers, Erin Frostic and Mark Winderweedle. Without you and your tireless dedication, our club would not be as strong and developed as it is today. Thank you both for guiding me and helping me shape this club into one of the leading car clubs of Shreveport Bossier. Our new board members have some pretty big shoes to fill, but I am confident that they will continue on with the dedication and effort that our last board members had to keep the momentum going. Our club finished out the year with our annual Christmas party at Silver Star BBQ and Grill after our last Club meeting of We had our usual round robin gift exchange with several gifts trading hands several times before the end of the evening. The big item of the night was a big bucket of cleaning supplies which changed owners several times. There were a few items that changed hands once or twice, but no real mustang oriented items this year. Max did his usual wonderful job of arranging the rules for the gift exchange, changing it up each year to keep things interesting. All in all, everyone had a great time with over 30 members attending despite the bad weather that night. The following weekend was the Santa Fun Run that was put off due to the same bad weather we had the previous Saturday for our club party. We counted over 80 cars from multiple car clubs at our first stop at the Rescue Mission. The route order was different this year, heading out to the rescue mission first, followed by the radio station for Blue Santa, then ending up at Nicky's Restaurant back in Bossier for Toys for Tots, and staying for lunch. Thanks again to the Shreveport and Bossier Police departments for coming together to escort us back and forth across town keeping traffic under control. Without them, it would be very difficult to get so many vehicles to each location safely and together as a group. It is nice to see both departments working together every year for a common cause. I liked the change in the order of the stops, because several people stayed at Nicky's to eat lunch, and we had a great time talking about the trip, and ribbing other club members about their rides, but at the same time enjoying the camaraderie of belonging to a car club. Thanks to all who came out and supported the Fun Run this year. It is always fun, and a great way to finish out Now it is the New Year, and time to kick it off with World of Wheels. We have our cars for our display lined up, and our theme for the display almost completed. All we need now is club members to help run the show. If you have not signed up for a shift or two, please contact myself or Nicole Ferlito to get signed up for a shift. This is one of our biggest money makers for our charities, and we need all the help we can get. Together with the Mopar club, we can make this show another great effort to bring revenue into the economy and help out the community like we have done in the past. Thomas Monahan

2 Page 2 U P C O M I N G ACTIVITIES The Pony Epress Hey all you Mustang Fans a new year has begun and it's time to get the year in gear. We start off the year with our monthly meeting at Asbury Church 5:00 the first Saturday of the month. We will be cruising to Hana in Shreveport for dinner. Our monthly board meeting is always the third Wednesday of the month 6:30 Reed Industrial off Mt. Zion Rd. Our big event of the winter is the Shreveport World of Wheels. Not only do we work the show we have a Club display too. We have already approached the people whose cars we would like in the display. Now we need Volunteers to work the show. This is our big money maker of the year. The Club gets paid $1,000 dollars to work the show and this money is what helps boost our Club to be the best and most generous club in town. We must pull together and volunteer to work the show. Please sign up on the sign-up sheet today at the club meeting or give me a call We need your help. We need help starting on Wednesday for floor marking at 8:00 am all the way thru Sunday to 10:00 pm. I want to go ahead and thank you all in advance that are helping out for all your hard work. Remember each shift has point value towards that first place Club jacket. That is all for January since we mainly focus on World of Wheels. I want to go ahead and give you the February cruise to place. We will be dining at Copelands on Bert Kouns for our Valentine's Club Dinner after the February meeting. 3 The Pony Epress MCA NEWS I hope everyone had a safe holiday. Things can get hectic during these times. It's now the new year and I wish everyone the best as 2014 is finally here. Remember, don't make any new year resolutions that you can't keep. Even though family services got a list of foster care children to me late, we were still able to get gifts for around 35 children. We may be getting more next year if we want to take them on as our Christmas project for next year. Page 3 50th birthday celebration will start getting ready. In the next few newsletters I'll be reminding everyone about things to take. I'll also be keeping everyone posted on any changes for Charlotte. So far we have none. See you on the road, Donna It's now time to concentrate on World of Wheels. This is what we work so hard for. The money that we earn makes it possible to fill our Christmas wishes. So I hope everyone puts their name on the work roster. We need help bad! Soon those who are going to the

4 The Pony Express Page 4 F RO M THE TREASURER HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, we sure did. It was a treat to shop for the Adopt a Family, Barbara Winderweedle and I were thrifty enough to purchase several articles of clothing for the boys, a bicycle each, an ironing board and iron, camera for the mom along with glasses and dishes and a few other items on the list. We went a little over the $ budget but not enough to request a check. Barbara and Mark s daughter was generous to wrap all the gifts, which left me time to get things done for my family. (Thank you very very much!) World of Wheels is coming up really fast and we need volunteers to work in varies areas at different times. Please let Thomas know if you are able to spend a little time with us. This benefits the club coffers. MEMBERSHIP DUES ARE DUE. $25.00 FOR SINGLE $35.00 FOR FAMILY.
